The hard part is deciding which ones to do in your limited time. If you’re travelling as a family, the decision process can be even harder as you need to ensure all possible options are kid-friendly.

To help you out, we’ve compiled a list of 10 things to do in Hua Hin as a family. So, without further ado, let’s jump on in and discover the absolute best ideas for mum, dad and the children to see, do and experience in Hua Hin.

[1] Inu cafe "Food & Dog Therapy" – For those in the know, Inu Cafe is a ‘must visit’ destination for dog lovers. This café has 7-8 Shibas playing with you. There are delicious food, drinks and dessert for you to try while having fun playing with all the Shibas, including feeding them snacks while taking perfect snapshots. This is a great place for families to spend time relaxing with these adorable dogs.

[2] Cicada Night Market – Beyond food – of which there is a lot! – this market offers something more unique than your run-of-the-mill offerings. It’s home to an ensemble of skilled local artists. From paintings and sculpture to photography and fashion, you’ll find a wealth of incredible items on sale here. All delightfully displayed in an outdoor garden setting festooned with fairy lights.

[3] Hua Hin Hills Vineyard – Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is home to the award-winning Monsoon Valley wine label. Set amid verdant mountain ranges and endless expanses of grape vines, mum and dad will love sampling the wines and enjoying the fine dining menu while the kids roam the grounds on the back of an elephant or a bicycle saddle.

[4] Camel Republic – Animal lovers will adore this Moroccan-style location where they can feed and interact with exotic creatures such as Arabian camels, alpacas, goats, giraffes and birds. The park also offers some thrill rides (like Sky Fly), a mini moto racetrack and a small indoor amusement park for kids.

[5] Baan Sillapin Artists Village – This small art village is a haven for artists from all around Thailand to come together and foster their artistic endeavours. Visitors are free to wander around the large galleries and artist studios. Enjoy a drink at the café overlooking the lake, take a drawing/painting class or visit a gift shop to get some beautiful souvenirs.

[6] Santorini Amusement Park – For something out of the ordinary, take a trip to Greece – in Thailand! That’s right, Santorini Park offers a glimpse of Grecian living, complete with heart-pumping rides, a Ferris wheel, water park, and  carnival rides. Plus boutique shops, plenty of fun entertainment and authentic dining outlets.

[7] Bluport Hua Hin Resort Mall – This is a mixed-use complex comprising a department store, a retail plaza, a financial services area, entertainment anchors, international fashion brand name stores, cinema, and an underwater world theme park. The first floor offers a relaxed seaside village setting among 200 shops and stalls.

[8] Chopstick Hill – Jutting majestically out of the ocean at the end of Hua Hin Beach is Khao Takiab (Chopstick Hill), atop of which resides a 20-metre-tall Golden Buddha. Besides seeing the statue and temples, the whole place is a wonderful spot from which to admire the ocean, beach and city beyond.

[9] Thai Cooking Academy Class – Put on your apron and roll up your sleeves for a fantastic cooking class at the Thai Cooking Academy. First visit a local market to collect fresh ingredients and then head back to the kitchen to whip up either five or ten dishes (vegetarian option available), depending on whether you choose a half- or full-day class.

[10] Khao Tao Reserve – For those of you wanting to get off the beaten track and away from the tourist hordes, Khao Tao should fit the bill nicely. Here you’ll find secluded beaches, a freshwater lake, temples and a sleepy fishing village. For grub, head to the beaches of Sai Yai or Suan Son for ocean-fresh seafood.

As you can see there are at least 10 fab things for families to do in Hua Hin. We recommend you plan an annual visit to the seaside city and tick them off one by one…
