A golden opportunity has arrived Thai nationality students seeking a Ph.d. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Carnegie Mellon - CMKL | Thailand is offering 9 Ph.d. scholarship positions available in our ECE program. Our program focuses on the concept of "Enabling Endless Possibilities” to bring knowledge, ability and integration to develop and bring forward to the workplace and beyond.

Students in the ECE Ph.D. Program are provided a research-intensive study of the fundamentals of electrical or computer engineering. Students will create and disseminate knowledge of electrical and computer systems during the course of obtaining the Ph.D. degree. Upon enrollment in the department, students, with the help of a faculty advisor, define an education and research program that is consistent with their background and is best suited to their own academic goals.

Established as a collaboration between Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL), CMKL University will provide cutting-edge engineering research and education in Southeast Asia. By bridging world-class partnerships with local context, CMKL makes technologies accessible to its society and creates innovations that will benefit Thailand and the Southeast Asia region.

Our goal is to prepare our students to lead this wave of change by focusing on engineering skills, creativity, and the practical understanding needed to develop impactful solutions. We are engaged in the pursuit and dissemination of knowledge across a wide range of areas in electrical engineering and computer engineering—from cyber physical systems, through to the technologies that have revolutionized our world, such as revolutionary data storage. Our interdisciplinary research includes biomedical and energy projects, including brain-machine interaction, wirelessly powered implants, thermoelectric devices, and building tomorrow’s smart grid.
