Ministry of Education launches strategic showcases

Kanokwan Vilawan, Deputy Minister of Education, along with Kamol Rodklai, Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Education, Somkiat Tandiloktragool, Secretary to the Deputy Minister of Education, and Payom Chinnawong, Director of the Working Committee, Deputy Minister of Education, announced “First anniversary at Wang Chankasem, a reflection of work and human resources with Kanokwan Vilawan.

Also launched at Boonyakate Conference Room, the Teachers’ Council of Thailand Hall, Ministry of Education were an exhibition featuring performances of Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education (NFE), Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC), and National Scout Organisation in Thailand (NSOT).

The event was joined by Prasert Boonruang, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Disakul Kasemsawat, Secretary-General of the Office of Informal Education, Athapol Truktrong, Inspector-General Ministry of Education, OPEC management executives, private schools, and NSOT across the country.

“The Ministry of Education focuses on lifelong learning management, aiming to provide educational opportunities for underprivileged citizens, including social exclusion groups, ethnic groups, people living in remote areas, and those with disabilities. Our education programmes are designed to reach any age group by prioritising academic quality and efficiency. The Ministry commits to work in collaboration with ministries and local networks and is open for comments and suggestions from executive management and staff from NFE, OPEC, and NSOT, with a view to implementing solutions and moving forward,” said Kanokwan Vilawan, Deputy Minister of Education.

In proceeding to the next phase, The Ministry of Education announced learning programmes under the “Online Learning-Create Occupation-Wellbeing Development” concept.

- Online Learning: Digital platforms, including “ONIE Online” and Google Classroom are employed as educational tools to support learning and establish careers for all target groups, along with improvement in NFE fundamental courses to bring them up to date and make them flexible and responsive to various occupations and learners’ needs. The digital technology amplifies capacity for NFE learning centres such as 103 “Chalerm Ratchakumaree” public library and 19 Science for Education Centres. In terms of private education management, the Ministry in collaboration with digital learning network partnership has launched “OPEC Digital Learning Center” across the country to provide access to resources for students and the public. The digital implementation applies to 66 scout camp sites nationwide.    

- Create Occupation: Support 231 OPEC premium product online launch through the OOCC platform, creating income for locals in communities and leading to copyright ownership.  

- Wellbeing Development: Establish a co-working system among professional groups, civil society, elderly, disabled, families and caregivers to support ageing society in Thailand. “Ruam Palang Website” is launched In support of group learning to provide learning opportunities and one-stop-service networks to assist them in healthcare and knowledge-based careers, creative works using intelligence and local wisdom, and crisis management awareness.
