Informa Markets collaborates with public-private partnerships to organise ‘ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020’

ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE2020) is the most comprehensive showcase of renewable energy innovation.

The show comprises a Hybrid Exhibition under the new normal way of living focusing on safety and health consciousness with confidence that Thailand has the potential to become an exhibition centre for the region. It will take place 23-26 September at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) Bangna.

Informa Markets, the organiser of ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, joins forces with relevant public and private agencies, including the Ministry of Energy, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand, The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (JGSEE), and the private sector, to organise ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, an exhibition of energy and environmental innovations. The annual exhibition gathers together the most advanced world-class technology that meet’s all environmental demands.

This year, Informa Markets has redesigned the event in accordance with the new normal way of living by organising a Hybrid Exhibition with two components: a highly-interactive exhibition featuring a physical exhibition of leading energy business partners jointly displaying their products and technologies, and; a virtual exhibition to facilitate customers from overseas who are unable to travel to Thailand to easily access the exhibition online from 23-26 September.

Asso.Prof. Suneerat Fukuda, Director, The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, said: “Since the domestic situation has begun to relax from COVID-19, many industries have resumed operations as normal. Energy, which is one of the key economic driving engines, has shown its important role. Therefore every year JGSEE cooperates with Informa Markets to organise Renewable Energy Asia together with ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week. This year, the event will be organised under the theme of "Sustainable Energy Solutions for Smart Cities", with the aim of pushing knowledge and supporting the energy industry both in Thailand and the ASEAN region, so all concerned parties can keep up with technological changes and move toward sustainably.”

Dr. Yossapong Laoonual, Honorary Chairman of Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), Expert Committee in National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee, said: “The new normal way of living that is highly concerned about the environment and sustainable development has resulted in an emerging use of clean energy and technology that helps reduce pollution. Currently, there is a switch to use more electric vehicles. The government has had a policy to promote electric vehicles in terms of production for the past several years. Indeed, it has announced a clear policy to make electrical vehicles account for 30 per cent of total vehicle production by 2030. As such, it  is widely believed that 2025-2030 will see rapid growth in the electric vehicle sector.”

A special feature of this year’s exhibition will be the International Electric Vehicle Technology Conference and Exhibition (iEVTech 2020) which will hear from speakers in key sectors sharing their knowledge and pinpointing directions for the electric vehicle industry, both locally and internationally, going forward.

Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, Deputy Managing Director to Informa Markets, said, “Informa Markets is a professional organiser of over 550 events international exhibitions and business activities around the world. In organising ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, now in its 16th edition, it collaborates with public and private partners.  This time, the exhibition will take a hybrid form. Informa Markets has launched a new virtual exhibition so customers from overseas who cannot travel can still participate and explore the physical exhibition featuring leading energy businesses throughout its four days.”

He continued that, “This year, the organising standard is different to usual as we follow the surveillance and monitoring measures for the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure the safety of all participants. This is why we have increased the number of event days to four, so we can maintain social distancing and still have plenty of time for networking and negotiations. So 23-26 September is an ideal opportunity for the renewable energy industry to drive business growth in the region.”

“Taking "ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR SMART CITIES" as its theme, ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 will exhibit all the latest technologies and innovations in energy. The exhibition is being held in conjunction with Electric Vehicle Asia, an exhibition of electric vehicle technology and equipment, battery management and control equipment for charging stations. The exhibition will showcase the most innovative energy sources, along with advanced technology and equipment from over 1,000 leading players around the world, including Delta Electronics, Solar PPM, Premier Products, and Solomon Technology. Official sponsors include Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and FIMER. Moreover, following the success of three series of webinars in preparation for the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, the exhibition has attracted a lot of attention and received good feedback from participants. It looks like at least 5,000 participants will join the seminars, whether in person or online, and we expect over 15,000 visitors virtual and actual visitors to the show.”

ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE2020), the most comprehensive showcase of renewable energy innovation, energy efficiency, environmental technology, and electric vehicle technology, held in conjunction with INTERMACH 2020 and SUBCON Thailand 2020 to provide a comprehensive showcase of innovative machinery for the manufacturing, robotic, and subcontracting sectors, takes place from Wednesday, 23 September to Saturday, 26 September 2020 at Bangkok International & Trade Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna Bangkok.
