SACICT prepares for a big event

"A new way of the Handicraft Arts under the royal patronage" Secure and Safe Shopping by Standard Screening System

SACICT or The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (Public Organization) prepares to arrange a big event, "A new way of the Handicraft Arts under the royal patronage", where gathers a plenty of Thai arts and crafts by over 400 booths to please the shoppers when the COVID-19 crisis passes by. This event is held on August 1-5, 2020 at Hall 5, 6 and 7, Impact Muang Thong Thani

Mr. Pornpon Akathaporn, Chief Executive Officer of SACICT said that The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACICT has a duty of succeeding the determination of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on Thai local arts and crafts. At the beginning of this year, Thailand has confronted the COVID-19 pandemic, which interrupted almost businesses and operations, and took effect to the community and national economy. Right now, the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand looks better; therefore, SACICT plans to heal the craft producers who have been impacted by this crisis by first combining two events previously held by the SACICT, including “Cotton Woven by Heart” event and “New Life under Royal Prestige” event, to be one in the name of "A new way of the Handicraft Arts under the royal patronage". This deems a national craft event to celebrate the movement of our country to the future. In addition, on July – August, 2020, it’s the great auspicious period for Thais as July 28, 2020 is the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, and August 12, 2020 is the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.

The SACICT will arrange “Heart Tied by Arts and Crafts, New Normal under Royal Prestige” event on 1-5 August, 2020 at Hall 5, 6, and 7, Impact Muang Thong Thani with purposes of honoring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, of shifting the quality of life of local people who would have the occupation and earn some revenues from crafts, and of offering the distribution channels for craft makers.

In “Heart Tied by Arts and Crafts, New Normal under Royal Prestige” event, an exhibition is also established to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. There are also over 400 booths distributing the products from the Foundation for the Promotion of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit of Thailand, and also Thai crafts from master artisans of Thailand, master craftsmen, and heritage artisans as well as SACICT members. There will be also the demonstration of rare crafts by SACICT members across the country, crafts of tribes and ethnic groups, fashion show of Thai fabric by leading designers, and bidding of invaluable crafts.

Many other entertainment activities are also provided there by several leading artists and superstars of Thailand, e.g. Khun Non Thanon and Khun Tu Pobthorn on August 1; Khun Pancake-Khemmanit Jamikorn, Khun Kan Napatra, and Khun Kaimook Rungrat on August 2; Alice-Thanutsaluck Hudson from The Golden Song Program on August 3. The Thai Khon will be presented on August 1 and 2. The visitors will be entertained by Soontraporn songs on August 3, 4 and 5, 2020 for 2 rounds a day, first round on 15.00 hrs. and second round on 18.00 hrs. A fashion show of Thai fabric by Khun Bella Ranee Campen will be presented on August 5 at 16.00 hrs.

Mr. Pornpon added that, in this event, the SACICT prepares certain strict public health measures for visitors’ safety by checking the body temperature, and adhering with the social distancing measure.
