The Royal Kathina and Remaining Kathina

Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee Kampeerayannon, Chairman of Thai People Council for the Nation, Religion, King; CEO of Sufficiency Economy City Co., Ltd.; and owner of SKYMED products, chaired the Royal Kathina ceremony on 25 October 2020

at Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple), Nai Mueang Sub-district, Mueang Roi Et District, Roi Et Province. At the event, Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee and his team received a warm welcome from the Head of Provincial Cultural Office as a representative of Roi Et Provicial Governor.

On 24 October 2020, Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee presented Kathina to Wat Pa Khampee, Nong Pai Lom Sub-district, Nong Song Hong District, Khon Kaen Province. In addition to various necessities, a Mitsubishi Pajero was given to accommodate monks for Dhamma activities and send sick villagers to a hospital because the village is far from the city. In addition, the donation can help construct Kampeerayannon Pracha Ruamjai Building at the temple. After completion, Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee travelled to Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) for the Royal Kathina ceremony.

Around 18.00 hrs., Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee and his team arrived at the pavilion of Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) to start the ceremony. At the pavilion, 10 monks had gathered to pray. After Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee and his team presented the necessities to the monks, he poured ceremonial water to give merit to the departed and received a blessing from the monks, and several cultural performances were presented by Roi Et College of Dramatic Arts students. After watching the performance, Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee made a statement about the importance of the nation, Buddhism and the monarchy. They then gathered to sing “Love the Land of Thailand” and danced together in a fun filled and friendly atmosphere. Head of Roi Et Provincial Cultural Office and his team provided cordial services throughout the event. 

On 25 October 2020, around 10.00 hrs., Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee came to Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) to chair the Royal Kathina opening ceremony. He paid homage to the image of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and entered the chapel where the Roi Et Province Buddha image was situated. After presenting the Royal Kathina robes to monks, all monks stated “Sudhu” to accept the robes. The ceremony then concluded. 

Prior to leaving the chapel, the abbot of Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) offered small Buddha images similar to the one in the temple to all visitors for their prayers at home. 

After lunch, Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee visited and cordially posed for photographs with villagers who brought and offered free food at the dining booth. After that, he sat in front of the stage to listen and watch the group chanting contest with great melodic presence. 

Around 13.00 hrs., Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee chaired the remaining Kathina at 69 temples to honour and pay tribute to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on his 68th birthday anniversary at Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) pavilion. Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee is a major host of the Kathina events at 69 temples, plus 8 additional temples and houses of priest, totalling 77 places. Sr.Gp.Capt. Kampee also offered Pha Pa robe and necessities to monks at Wat Klang Ming Mueang (Royal Temple) to pay monk debts to the temple.
