LINE BK, the first social-banking platform in Thailand, invites you to celebrate the Lunar New Year by sending “Ang-Bao” (red envelopes) via the LINE chat app instantly and conveniently, while remaining COVID-19-safe. In addition, the platform will give away more than 10 million baht in rewards to customers who use LINE BK to transfer funds and choose the “Happy Lunar New Year” theme payment slip. Individual users will earn up to a 100-baht cashback reward. The promotion is valid from 10-16 February 2021.

In the past three months, LINE BK has seen that one of the most popular features among users is electronic funds transfer. This allows users to easily and instantly send money through the LINE chat application without having to switch to another app. LINE BK users can transfer funds to anyone regardless of a recipient having a LINE BK account or not. If fund recipients do not have a LINE BK account, money can be sent via a bank account number or PromptPay.
Moreover, LINE BK has seen that customers increasingly choose LINE Friends’ theme envelopes over ordinary ones to send expressive messages, including “Thank you—the no. 1 selected envelope”, “Love you XOXO”, “Congratulations”, and “Happy Birthday”. Meanwhile, customers have picked up on festive-designed envelopes during holidays such as Christmas and New Year during which LINE BK saw transactions increase by 20%.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, LINE BK has rolled out an auspicious theme envelope featuring "Xin Jia Yu Ei, Xin Ni Hua Chai (Wishing You Great Happiness and Prosperity)” so users can send best wishes with red envelopes in a cashless manner and COVID-19-safely.
According to KASIKORNBANK’S statistics, Lunar New Year 2020 alone saw a record of over 180 million electronic fund transfers involving over 900 million baht. This year, even more money is expected to be digitally transferred.

LINE BK is also pleased to offer up to 100-baht rewards to customers who make fund transfers and choose the Lunar New Year theme envelopes between 10-16 February 2021. There is no minimum transfer amount and the money can be transferred through the LINE BK app, a bank account number, or PromptPay. LINE BK users will receive 20-baht per transaction for a maximum of 100 baht per user. LINE BK expects to give away total reward value of 10 million baht across as many as 500,000 transactions during the campaign.
LINE BK has also announced good news for parents. LINE BK has amended the minimum age requirements for accounts, reducing the minimum age from 15 years to 12 years of age. Parents are now welcome to open a LINE BK account for children, so they too can receive red envelopes or other monetary gifts on special occasions.
