PWA extends New Year gift payment period

Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) has announced that it is extending its “New Meters at Special Prices by PWA” campaign, following the successful initiation of the project, which originally ran from 1 January – 28 February 2021. The installation payment period has now been extended to 15 March 2021.

The campaign, run through 234 branches of PWA across Thailand, is designed as a way to give consumers more access to tap water while reducing the burden of expenditure on installation of new water meters.

A total of 30,539 households applied to take advantage of the 10% discount scheme from 1 January – 28 February 2021.

The achievement of New Meters at Special Prices by PWA, introduced as a New Year’s gift to the people of Thailand, drew praise from Mr. Songsak Thongsri, Deputy Minister of Interior.

Meanwhile, PWA revealed that it has extended its New Year gift project into 2021 under the “Driving Together for Happiness of Thai People and Healthiness of Thailand in 2021” concept and “Healing Suffering, Nurturing Happiness” mission.

The New Meters at Special Prices by PWA project offers new tap water users a 10% discount for two months on the installation of their water meter, including up to 10 metres of water pipe from the mains supply and excluding installation of pipes inside the residence.

The discount scheme reduces the burden of expenditure on new pipe installations. It also gives more people the opportunity to consume piped water and promotes good relations between PWA and tap water consumers.

Mr. Kritsada Sankhamani, Deputy Governor (Technical Affairs) and Acting Governor, affirmed that: “Those who have already enrolled in the project but haven’t yet paid the installation fee are able to make payment up to 15 March 2021 by contacting their nearest PWA branch or can call the PWA Contact Center at 1662 for more details.”

PWA officers can advise on using the PWA 1662 app and PWA Line Official: @pwathailand.
