BMA creates “@bkkcovid19connect” for COVID-19 patients, with 1-hour reply

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has continuously searched for people infected with COVID-19, who have not entered the proactive treatment system through examinations conducted by district offices.

The BMA also opens contact channel via 1669 hotline of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Emergency Medical Service Center or Erawan Center. With this channel, the COVID-19 infected persons who are still waiting for treatment can notify the BMA of their information so that the BMA can immediately manage and search for hospitals that are suitable to their symptoms without delay. As of May 3, 539 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected in Bangkok and 2,041 new cases across Thailand. 

Moreover, Pol.Gen. Aswin Kwanmuang, Governor of Bangkok, was updated that Navamindradhiraj University has developed information system for COVID-19 patients who are waiting for treatment in the Bangkok Metropolis area using LINE application, @bkkcovid19connect. The system development has been supported by a team of computer specialists from Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology or VISTEC under PTT Public Company Limited.

This is another channel to proactively receiving COVID-19 patients which can meet the need of patients and officers who conduct active case findings. Consequently, the referral of patients into treatment system will be done rapidly. This is a user-friendly system with sequences of database and patients’ symptoms which considered the strength of this system. Officers will be able to use all information at the utmost efficiency. 

Officers can compare information from other databases of the BMA to prevent repetition such as information from 1669 hotline of Erawan Center and information derived from the search and survey of people infected with COVID-19 who have not yet entered into proactive treatment system through examinations conducted by district offices. Once the information is confirmed, the officers will instantly contact informers or patients within 1 hour. This system is ready for service from now on.
