The Governor of the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA), Mr. Somboon Sunanthapongsak, on 12 June 2021, surveyed Lop Buri Province to find a solution for the shortage of drinkable water arising from seasonal drought. Mr. Sunanthapongsak used the occasion to outline several plans to improve the water supply system for drought recovery.
Through collaborations with Lop Buri local administrative organisations, Regional Irrigation Office 10, and other governmental bodies at Khok Kathiam, Mueang District, Lop Buri, PWA was able to provide additional water distribution to alleviate the hardship of affected people in these areas. A more efficient water management and reservoir plan, currently under development, is expected to become a long-term solution to this perennial drought issue.
