Vulcan Coalition, a social enterprise dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI) data crowdsourcing for people with disabilities, has joined hands with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) to organise “Vulcan x depa: Leveraging AI to battle the Abrupt Change By Disabilities” with the aim to drive and enhance AI technology using the resources of people with disabilities.
In this seminar, Dr.Passakon Prathombutr, SEVP/CTO Digital Technology and Innovation Development Unit, was invited to deliver the opening remarks. Other speakers included: Dr.Supakorn Siddhichai, Executive Vice President, Digital Technology and Innovation Development, Digital Economy
Promotion Agency (depa), Thailand; Dr. Thepchai Supnithi,Lab Director, NECTEC; Dr.Thadpong Pongthawornkamol, Senior Principal Visionary Architect, Head of Data Science, and; Mr. Niran Pravithana, Chief Business Officer, Vulcan Coalition. They shared their direct experiences, case studies, and the increasing role of AI in today’s rapidly changing world. The seminar was conducted as a Zoom Conference and through Vulcan Coalition Facebook Page via livestreaming on 16 September 2021.
Dr. Passakon Prathombutr, SEVP/CTO Digital Technology and Innovation Development Unit, said: “Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) aims to support the development of digital industry and innovation to lead Thailand to become a digital economy, especially with regard to artificial intelligence. We have joined forces with Vulcan Coalition to drive Thailand’s AI due to the lack of datasets which are an essential component in building AI systems. Furthermore, we would like to enhance and make AI part of core strategies for adding value to businesses which are expected to drive the country’s economic growth in the fast-developing world.”
Mr. Niran Pravithana, Chief Business Officer, Vulcan Coalition, stated: “The main purpose is to collaborate with depa to provide opportunities for any partner or organisation interested in AI by utilising the considerable resources of people with disabilities.”
The ‘Vulcan x depa: Leveraging AI to battle the Abrupt Change By Disabilities’ seminar addressed such topics as adopting AI technology in business, building AI systems, and how to Open Dataset which is the key point in building AI and Dataset by people with disabilities.”
