MEA inspects distribution system and electrical equipment for Chao Phraya Communities in Nonthaburi

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) Bang Yai and Bang Bua Thong branches, along with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Workers Union (MEAWU), led by President Sanit Saiprasert, on 6 October 2021, visited to Pak Kret and Phibunsongkhram 1 Communities, Nonthaburi Province, to inspect distribution systems and electrical equipment for safety. They also monitored the water level to ensure that meters installed on electricity poles are safe. MEA urges the public to inspect home electrical equipment to prevent danger of electric leakage with the aid of MEA maintenance personnel available 24 hours a day.

MEA under the Ministry of Interior is committed to efficient power distribution that can support emergency situations and outages in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan. MEA has a 24-hour maintenance plan to solve problems in all sectors according to the directives of the National Disaster Management Command Headquarters.

Moreover, MEA has installed an accessory to increase stability for the key water pumping stations. The electrical system is connected to SCADA and DMS systems to automatically direct power supply. This will improve management, data analysis, and operation of efficient and safe electricity distribution. Staff have been assigned to supervise 10 key spots, including pumping stations, drainage tunnels, and underpass tunnels in all 492 service areas.

Currently, people in areas that might be affected by flooding, including communities outside the embankment and near lowland areas, MEA recommends moving electrical equipment and power plugs to a safe higher place and keeping tree branches away from electrical wires as the wet branches could lead to leakage. For billboards, please check the strength and make sure the structure is in a stable, safe condition. It is also recommended to follow the news closely.

If people see damaged electrical cables or electrical equipment, they are asked to notify MEA officials via: MEA Call Center at 1130, MEA social media platforms, or MEA Smart Life application on iOS and Android smartphones 24-hour downloadable at http://onelink.to/measmartlife.
