Promoting educational equality in Thai society

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) Co., Ltd., together with Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF), led by Mr. Morikazu Chokki (left), Chairman, organised a scholarship awarding ceremony under the “Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education” program.

Mr. Nopporn Suvanruji (top row, left), a member of the Subcommittee on Management of Treasury or Assets Donated to Equitable Education Fund (EEF), Dr. Niorn Srisoontorn (top row, middle), Deputy Director of Chon Buri Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, Ms. Saijai Poomthawon, (top row, right), Deputy Director of Pathum Thani Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, and executives from Mitsubishi Motors Thailand also attended to celebrate and congratulate the scholarship recipients.  

This program was launched to support Thai youths with outstanding academic records but needing financial aid, in order to ensure that they can secure their seats at school even during the economic hard times precipitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Morikazu Chokki, Chairman of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation stated, “Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has continuously operated in Thailand for over 60 years. With our strong ambition to support all Thais, we established ‘Mitsubishi Motors Thailand Foundation (MMTF)’ as a nonprofit organization aiming to benefit society through three focus areas: 1) environment 2) health, and 3) education & morality. This, in turn, is part of our social contribution commitment vision  ‘To Contribute and Grow with Thai society’. This year, we have carried out a number of projects, including material donations to hospitals to help them cushion the impact of the COVID-19 surge and 60-Rai Forestation Project in Chonburi and Sa Kaoe."

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, in collaboration with the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), an organisation under the regulation of the prime minister, initiated ‘Mitsubishi Motors Gives Chances, Gives Education’ to award scholarships to middle school students who have impressive academic performance, enabling them to develop their potential independently.  This year, the program has awarded scholarships to of 100 students, 70 from Chonburi and 30 from Pathum Thani. These students are from schools situated within the territory of Mitsubishi Motors Thailand’s manufacturing hub in Laem Chabang and its training academy. I would like to congratulate all the students who received the scholarships this year. I hope that they will study hard and stay committed to pursuing their dreams. I would also like to express our gratitude to all of the relevant sectors that have been a great support to this program." 

Mr. Nopporn Suvanruji, a member of the Subcommittee on Management of Treasury or Assets Donated to Equitable Education Fund, said, “I would like to express my appreciation to Mitsubishi Motors Thailand for this scholarship effort that establishes educational equality for all and mitigates burdens related to educational expenses for needy families.  The EEF has a mission to reform and address educational disparities, and this program is a firm collaboration between Mitsubishi Motors Thailand, EEF, and the Basic Education Commission of Thailand (OBEC) of the Ministry of Education where all potential resources are mobilised to introduce and materially fulfil educational opportunities, or ‘All for Education’.”

Established in 2020, the Mitsubishi Motors Give Chance, Give Education program aims to grant scholarships to middle school students who achieve outstanding academic results and always behave well. The opportunity is facilitate in collaboration with the Equitable Education Fund (EEF) with a view to strengthening educational opportunities which will ultimately lead to sustainable potential development of Thai youths. Mitsubishi Motors Thailand remains purposefully committed to continually and sustainably supporting the education of Thai youths through several projects.
