to do R&D for Hemp Products

Thai Hemp Wellness joins hands with Lemon Farm and Organic Agroforestry Foundation to do research and development of commercial hemp products and create high-value innovations to enhance the agricultural economy for sustainable growth.

Thai Hemp Wellness Co., Ltd led by President Dr. Kriangsak Liewchanpattana, Organic Agroforestry Foundation’s Chairman Mr. Direk Tonpayom, and Lemon Farm’s Managing Director Ms. Suwanna Langnamsung, have jointly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in the research and development of hemp products for commercial purpose. Also attended the MoU-signing were Dr. Sathianphong Kaewsod, Chief Executive Officer of Thai Hemp Wellness, Gen Suthat Jarumanee, Chairman of Advisory Board of the Organic Agroforestry Foundation, Assoc Prof Dr. Apinan Suwanrak, Vice President of Organic Agroforestry Foundation. 

The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Veerachart Kheunrat, former inspector of Agriculture and Cooperative Ministry, Assoc Prof Dr. Supoj Boonraeng, President of the Master's Program, Agriculture and Food Enterprise Management, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University.

Hemp is a plant that can use all parts of it from roots, stems, leaves, to flowers and seeds. It can create high value to the food, beverage, dietary supplement, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, health care and livestock products industries. It is, therefore, an opportunity for Thailand to have a new type of economic plant-- "New Vision Economic Crop." After the government has enacted a law permitting hemp cultivation and industrial processing, Thai Hemp Wellness has encouraged community enterprises and farmers which have been licensed by the Food and Drug Administration, to cultivate hemp on 1.600 rai plot of land in Chiang Rai. They will be used as raw material in phytochemical cannabinoids such as CBD, CBC, CBG, CBN and terpenes which is good for man and animals’ health. Hemp products are worth 800,000 million baht per year in the global market.
