WorkVenture released the results of its annual Top 50 Employers in Thailand 2022 survey, revealing the best workplaces as voted by the new generation of candidates in Bangkok. WorkVenture is a leading employer branding consulting company for major organisations in Thailand and white collar job board.
WorkVenture surveyed the relevant target group of the new generation candidates, consisting of recent graduates and young professionals in the workforce around the ages of 21-35. A total of over 10,000 people were surveyed.
The current employment climate has proved to be very challenging for companies. Without knowing how to adapt and adjust practices according to changes in the environment such as the ever-increasing popularity of remote working, employers are struggling to retain employees. Especially considering the consequences of ‘Work From Home’, an increasing number of employees are feeling burnout faster. They feel unmotivated and unhappy, leading to a high number of resignations and the search to find a company that might light a spark in them again.
Some of the most important factors that make a company attractive to work for according to the survey include benefits and workplace culture. More recently, the new generation of workers are looking to find freedom to work wherever they want. This is an example of why adapting to the current challenges and adopting flexible processes such as hybrid work systems can help employers stay popular and relevant among the new generation of employees.
The most desired industry to work in was technology, followed by consumer products, particularly because the respondents feel these industries would allow them to grow and develop their careers. The third most popular industry was social media and entertainment. People know these companies well, and hear about them a lot, therefore assuming that they would genuinely enjoy working there. Large, well-established companies are shown to be constant leaders. With the uncertainty of the economy, employees want to know they have a stable job and will be taken care of financially.
