The revived Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is ready to reopen for APEC in September 2022

N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd., or NCC, announces that Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) that it manages has been selected as the venue for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit 2022 and all meetings related to APEC Framework to be held throughout the year. QSNCC is ready to welcome delegates to Thailand from all the 21 economies and beyond and will support APEC to host the meetings with the theme of “Open. Connect. Balance.”

For over three decades, QSNCC has provided comprehensive international meetings services. It is currently undergoing a redevelopment phase to offer five-times larger space and a variety of retail spaces to facilitate visitors once completed. The upgraded “Queen Sirikit National Convention Center” has a unique exterior and interior design portraying its conceptual identity of the essence of QSNCC legacy integrating with the present day. It is assured to be well-recognised at international level as Thailand’s ultimate world class event platform.

“On behalf of the management team of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, we are delighted and honoured to have been entrusted by the APEC organising team of the Thai Government to provide our full range of meetings and events solutions,” said Mr. Sakchai Pattarapreechakul, President of N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd. “The new QSNCC will be able to accommodate all types of events unlimitedly, featuring cutting-edge technology and complete facilities guaranteed with standards compatible with global top event venues in other countries. QSNCC also has a unique identity, along with architecture and landscape that is beautiful, outstanding and harmonised with the surrounding areas while exhibiting a perfect combination of Thai and international characteristics. With the knowledge, expertise, and experience of our professional team, we are certain that the upgraded QSNCC will provide excellent services to the conference organisers and participants of APEC 2022.”

The new QSNCC will be the first convention centre in Thailand that can break through limitations in event organising activities. With flexible space design and modern construction techniques, the long span truss structure with absence of columns creates greater space within the building. The hall measures over 22,500 square metres, enabling it to accommodate all types of events. Comprising two main exhibition halls with a total area of more than 45,000 square metres, it is designed to maximise the capacity of the space, making it possible to hold several meetings or events at the same time. QSNCC is the only convention, seminar, and exhibition centre in Thailand equipped with these capabilities. Moreover, it is the only convention centre located in the heart of Bangkok with direct access to the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT).

In terms of technology and facilities, QSNCC has prepared its infrastructure to accommodate the use of high-speed internet in Thailand, including the upcoming 6G, thus being capable of supporting virtual and hybrid events efficiently. Touchless access system and intelligence event platform management system are established to control service provision. Top-level security technology is adopted in compliance with the international quality standards as well as taking life safety into consideration.

“Serving as ‘the ultimate inspiring world class event platform for all’, the upgraded QSNCC will certainly contribute to Thailand’s economic growth,” Mr. Sakchai added.

QSNCC is the first and only convention centre to receive Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver certification. The use of environmentally friendly construction materials, including adopting 25% recycled products and 75% recyclable products as well as solar cells, and energy-saving devices constitute sustainable management. With a total event space of 78,500 square metres, Queen Sirikit National Conventional Center provides two main exhibition halls of over 45,000 square metres, two large conference halls of nearly 10,000 square metres and 50 flexible meeting rooms. Its accessibility to the Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) and 2,700 indoor parking spaces make QSNCC the most convenient centre in CBD Bangkok. The revamped QSNCC will be opened in September 2022.
