Bangkok. Following the successful debut of the first all-electric MINI and the rise of electric car in the premium compact segment, MINI Thailand is propelling splendid response with the unveiling of "MINI Electric Collection Edition" (multitone roof), featuring special roof shades and new body colours – Rooftop Grey Metallic and Island Blue Metallic. While retaining unique design and riding fun with legendary go-kart feeling, this cleaner electric mobility yet also brings a better future and all excitement. The MINI Electric Collection Edition will be exclusively available for limited edition in a run of 40 vehicles only, with the price of THB 2,459,000 inclusive of MSI standard.

Khun Prapatsara Aramvongsamut, Director, MINI Thailand, said, “In addition to being the pioneer in electric urban mobility in the premium compact segment, MINI also initiated into the innovative form of roof design. The ‘MINI Electric Collection Edition’ does not only reflect the perfect creativity of MINI, the flowing gradient between the three colour tones selected for the Multitone Roof also demonstrates a long tradition of colour diversity. The colour scheme of the Multitone Roof forms an interplay that is as appealing as it is harmonious with almost all the body paint. This iconic electric joyride remains to yet deliver incomparable driving experience and paving the way toward a cleaner, better and sustainable future in urban traffic.”

The expansion of the range of contrasting paint finishes to include the Multitone Roof is made possible by the introduction of a new type of painting technique at the British MINI plant in Oxford. There, the light colour Pearly Aqua is first applied to the roof of the correspondingly configured vehicles. In further steps, San Marino Blue is applied to the front of the roof and Jet Black to the rear, creating the flowing colour gradients characteristic of the Multitone Roof.

The innovative painting process is fully integrated into the automated production process at the MINI plant in Oxford. Nevertheless, slight deviations in the colour pattern occur due to changing environmental conditions, so that each MINI with a Multitone Roof is already given the character of a unique specimen by the painting process at the factory.

Apart from innovation and mobility development, MINI also demonstrated inspiration and positive attitude toward sustainable life for humanity and earth through special art showcase with the ‘Big Love’ concept. Collaborating with three Thai illustrators that have collaborated with global brands, the artistic pieces were presented at the MINI Electric Collection Edition exclusive preview with digital screen technology on the iconic The Frame TVs and the latest smart portable projector, The Freestyle, from MINI’s partner, Samsung. The artistic showcase include:

  • Pomme Chan – Ms. Tachamapan Chanchamrassang – with “LOVE IS INFINITY” art pieces reflecting endless driving to discover the world
  • Mr. Thanawat Sakdawisarak, aka Bloody Hell Big Head, who is inspired by transforming the geometric forms to typography through “THE ROAD THAT CONNECT US”, presenting the road that links diverse people and “WE ARE THE UNIVERSE”, showing equality and non-discrimination.
  • Ms. Chanaradee Chatrakul Na Ayudhya, aka Juli Baker and Summer, who received Thailand Influencer Award 2019 for the best design & art by Tellscore, with vivid and vibrant art pieces. Her artwork – CELEBRATE FREEDOM – expresses ‘Big Love’ and diversity, with human freedom and rights through rainbows, birds, butterflies and flowers
