Prestigious APEC 2022 gathering will mark the return in style

The renewal of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) is set to spark a reawakening of Thailand on diverse fronts by showing economic resilience, catalysing the new digital lifestyle and ensuring sustained recuperation. QSNCC’s three-year renovation reinvigorates the prospects for the country and the region to move forward with confidence.

The ultimate world-class facilities feature a 5x increase in total space for hosting premium events.

In its over 30 years as the nation’s largest and most holistic convention centre, the original QSNCC hosted over 20,000 domestic and international events and enjoyed wide acclaim for its all-inclusive facilities.

Still set in the same location in Bangkok’s new central business district, the new QSNCC is enhanced with a 5X increase in floor space to 300,000 square metres. The facility is equipped with exquisite facilities and provides unparalleled services for hosting a myriad of events, from MICE to concerts, e-sports, gaming, and art & craft gatherings.

The greater floor space can host multiple events simultaneously. The unparalleled popularity reflects its strategic location with convenient access to Rama IV Rd., Sukhumvit Rd., Ratchadaphisek Rd., and Duang Pitak Rd., and adjacent connection to MRT Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

As such, QSNCC has been selected as a suitably prestigious venue to host APEC 2022 and welcome delegates from all the 21 economic zones to Thailand.

QSNCC is established with the highest standard security system widely adopted worldwide, including Life Safety system, prioritising evacuation in emergency events such as fires and power failures. Visitors

can safely exit through the smoke-proof corridors and walkways to outside the building.  Additionally, almost 1,000 CCTV cameras are installed across the whole area.

Acclaimed as a versatile functional convention centre, QSNCC is wired with Thailand’s high-speed infrastructure system supporting 5G. This ensures that online and hybrid events can proceed at maximum capacity, enabling unlimited convenience for event organisers and their guests.

Touchless Access and Intelligence Event Platform Management System solutions enhance services in the area so they run smoothly and effectively with the highest safety.

Modern cross-cultural design connects Thai elegance with dynamic vibes

In preserving the memorable sophistication of its original architecture, the new Queen Sirikit National Convention Center elegantly reinterprets the themes. With glass surrounding the entire building, the curvy outline adds a touch of Thai delicacy balanced with a cross-culture approach. Interior design features Thai fabric patterns and motifs depicting a remarkable identity and stylish visuals.

Solar energy cells are to be installed covering the entire property. Automatic devices for power and water are equipped to help save energy.

Bangkok Active Lifestyle Mall (BALM), comprehensive urban vibrancy

QSNCC is the only convention centre that includes large expanses of greenscape in the form of “Benjakitti Forest Park”. Meanwhile, retail outlet design concepts reflect the health needs of urbanites who visit the park regularly for exercise as well as those just visiting the neighbourhood.

The “BALM” or Bangkok Active Lifestyle Mall concept embraces over 60% eateries, cafés and beverage outlets, 20% sport retailers and therapy services, and 20% lifestyle shops.

The rental area is already 40% occupied by over 100 outlets of leading brands and restaurants, with new additions being welcomed every day.

The spaciousness of the new QSNCC facilitates over 13 million visitors a year, a near 50% increase over the original iteration.

New logistics and trade fair centre matching diversity and premium expediency

The comeback of QSNCC redefines the MICE sector. Events and trade fairs are already booked from September 2022 through 2023. Reservations for event hosting comprises 60% international traders and 40% local organisers.

As Thailand is a hub for ASEAN countries, QSNCC is qualified to serve ASEAN traders and those from around the world. They can all come and host events and fairs to international standards, enjoy Thai hospitality, and take advantage of the strategic location.

The construction of QSNCC features advanced technology Sliding Super Truss, enabling steal structure installation that supports heavy loads. The seamless floor area with no pillars, yields ample space and flexible logistical access.  Traders can enjoy two-floor loading zones spanning 21,000 square metres.

The debut event lined up for the new QSNCC is “ASEAN Sustainability Energy Week” during 14-16 September 2022. This will be followed by “Food & Hotel Thailand” during 21-24 September 2022. “Thailand Mobile Expo” and many other regular trade fairs, travel and IT events are also returning home.
