Apply for AMCHAM Foundation Scholarships!

The American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand Foundation (ATF) recently announced the opening of scholarship applications for 2022. Each year, the ATF selects deserving Thai university students to complete their university studies through targeted scholarships. This year the ATF has a goal of providing 65 scholarships to deserving students.

Beyond providing financial aid to these students, the ATF Scholarship impacts the student’s life direction, dreams, and career opportunities. During the scholarship program, students participate in activities and camps organized by the ATF and the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM Thailand) to help develop their career and life skills and gain exposure to professional environments and career possibilities. AMCHAM’s scholarship graduates have gone on to pursue their career goals and find employment with Chevron, Esso, Ford, Bayer, Cargill, and other AMCHAM member companies. They are the future workforce in Thailand and continue to give back to their communities, contributing to the overall development of the Thai economy and society.

The ATF Alumni includes students from remote areas of Thailand. “I am the first generation in my family to pursue a college degree. All the villagers are farmers, including my family. Growing up in a farm, I would never ever envision my life as it is today. The journey from being a Thai country farm boy to a US corporate employee is surreal.” – said Anucha, ATF Scholar, Class of 2012. Another Scholar added “In addition to providing me with funds to help survive while at university, the ATF Scholarship program gave me guidelines on how to accomplish my goals for the future.”- said Saroh, ATF Scholar, Class of 2012.

Over the last 30 years, the ATF has supported over 3,000 Thai students to complete their university degrees and realize their professional dreams.

Applications are open until August 31 for the ATF Scholarship program. Students applying for scholarship must be able to demonstrate financial need, cumulative GPAX of 2.8 or above, English GPAX of 3.0 or above, amongst other requirements. They must also commit to 20 hours of community service per school year, and participation in online AMCHAM events, Orientation Camps and Career Camps.
