The Department of International Trade Promotion is organising its annual Design Excellence Award and will accept entries until May 3.
Ekachat Seetavorarat, deputy director-general of the department, said the Design Excellence Award (DEmark Award) this year marked its 16th anniversary and continued to promote excellent designs of Thai products and services internationally.
There are seven categories of the DEmark Award this year, including a new one covering the design of digital systems, digital services, digital platforms, online interfaces, websites and apps for smartphones and tablets to follow the trend of digital transformation, he said during the launch on Feb 3.
The other six categories concern furniture, lifestyle and fashion products, industrial products, packaging designs, graphic designs and interior decoration.
Considerable privileges await award winners. They can use the DEmark logo for their promotions free of charge and enter the second round of the G Mark Award contest in Japan.
DEmark Award winners will also be introduced at international design forums including the Milan Design Week in Italy, the Maison & Objet Paris in France and the Creative Expo in Taiwan, Mr Ekachat said.
