MEA, BMA and AIS Present Wi-Fi Devices to Ban Bangkapi School as part of BETTER BANGKOK RUN 2023 Fundraising

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), led by Governor Wilas Chaloeysat, collaborated with Governor Chadchart Sittipunt from the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority (BMA) and Wasit Wattanasap, the Executive President of Advanced Info Services Plc (AIS), along with Vatanyu Sevikul, Head of Corporate Customer Sales, Finance, and Government Sector. Together, they presented Wi-Fi devices that were contributed through the BETTER BANGKOK RUN 2023 fundraising event for Ban Bangkapi School, under the leadership of Director Nitat Rakthai.

The revenue generated from the application fee, without any deductions, was used to procure and install Wi-Fi devices for schools under the directive of the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority. The goal is to provide broader opportunities for the youth in Thailand to stay connected with the rapidly evolving global landscape.

MEA takes pride in its participation in improving the quality of urban life. Alongside electricity maintenance and development programs, MEA also undertakes electricity enhancement projects to ensure safety and prevent dangers caused by electrical appliance damage at Ban Bangkapi School. These maintenance programs include monitoring the earth wire for the drinking water cooling machine, checking the electricity switchboard for any damages, and conducting maintenance on the electricity system. These services are provided to 334 schools in Bangkok.

As a state-owned enterprise under the directive of the Ministry of Interior, MEA is responsible for distributing electricity in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakarn. MEA focuses not only on electricity system safety but also on social responsibility, environmental concerns, and improving the quality of public life.

The collaborative initiative between MEA, AIS, and BMA in hosting the BETTER BANGKOK RUN 2023 fundraising event aims to provide Wi-Fi devices for schools under the directive of the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority. This initiative is part of their commitment to create sustainable benefits for society and the environment. Inspired by Ban Bangkapi School, one of the participating schools in the program, this cooperation among various networks encourages contributions towards sustainable urban development in the future.
