Foot of Government Hill Bak Kut Teh

In 1955, Ng Siak Hai began selling Bak Kut Teh as a street cart at the foot of Government Hill (present-day Clarke Quay) along River Valley under the name "Foot of Government Hill Bak Kut Teh". In 1977, Mr Ng renamed the restaurant to "NG AH SIO Pork Ribs Soup Eating House." In 2010, Jumbo Group acquired Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh. Currently, Ng Ah Sio has two branches in Singapore and one branch in China.

Ng Ah Sio has garnered numerous awards and certifications, including recognition from the Michelin Guide, Trip.com Gourmet Award, DianPing Must Eat List, Tasty Singapore, CNlnnovation Business Award, Top Choice Restaurant Award, and the Promising Licensor of the Year.

The signature Ng Ah Sio Bak Kut Teh soup is a distinctive Teochew peppery pork rib soup, enriched by the flavor of bone marrow braised over 12 hours. This classic Singaporean dish derives its name from the Mandarin term 'Rou Gu Cha,' where 'Bak Kut' refers to 'Rou Gu,' meaning pork rib, and 'Teh' refers to 'Cha,' meaning tea.

For the first time, NG AH SIO Bak Kut Teh will be launching a collaboration menu with JUMBO Seafood Thailand at ICONSIAM for a limited period from June 19, 2024, to September 30, 2024. The menu will feature 10 signature dishes.
