Successful Olympic Day Concludes with CCEF Cocktail Celebration

CCEF hosted a VIP cocktail party at Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, marking the grand finale of the "Olympic Day" celebrations in Bangkok.

The French Foreign Trade Advisors (Conseillers du Commerce Extérieur de la France or CCEF) hosted an exclusive VIP cocktail party on the evening of 15 June 2024 at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, serving as the grand finale of the celebration of the “Olympic Day” event in Bangkok, Thailand.

Earlier in the day, the “Olympic Day: Road to Paris 2024” event at Benchakitti Park was co-organised by the Thai Olympic National Committee, the French Embassy in Thailand, and the French Foreign Trade Advisors in Thailand (CCEF). Throughout the day, attendees enjoyed sports demonstrations, workshops, and an open-air musical festival featuring renowned Thai and French bands and musicians. The event culminated in a prestigious celebration of the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, to be held in Paris, France, from 26 July to 11 August 2024. The exclusive VIP cocktail party aimed to demonstrate the enduring friendship between France and Thailand, bringing together dignitaries, business leaders, and renowned athletes.

The evening's VIP cocktail party, organised by the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF) in Thailand, promised a night of elegance and inspiration. Arnaud Bialecki, President of the French Foreign Trade Advisors in Thailand, highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “As France Foreign Trade Advisors, being CEOs of French companies operating in Thailand, we wanted to see the economic ties between the two countries we love, France and Thailand, flourish. The passion for sports unites people, including business executives. Therefore, we felt that organising an event to promote the Paris Olympics was the perfect opportunity to show our Thai friends the best France has to offer.”

H.E. Mr. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, the French Ambassador to Thailand, delivered the opening remarks, followed by speeches from dignitaries and officials from both countries, Khun Ying Patama Leeswadtrakul from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, and French Foreign Trade Advisor President, Mr. Arnaud Bialecki.

The evening highlighted the Break Dance sport, which has been added this year to the Olympic Games by France. To showcase this new addition, a dance performance by this year’s athletes together with DJ T-Sia was a spectacular event for the guests attending the party. The performance was followed by another great demonstration of BMX road bicycle skills by the four-consecutive-time BMX champion, Alex Jumelin.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to meet and interact with celebrated athletes, including the French football World Cup winner in 1998 and Premier League sports legend Emmanuel Petit and multi-gold medalist Paralympic fencing champion, Cyril Moré. Thai athletes, including sailing champions competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Sophia Montgomery and Arthit Mikhail Romanyk, also attended the event. These athletes shared their Olympic journeys and the values of dedication and excellence that the Games represent.

The culinary experience for the evening was extraordinary. Michelin-starred chefs Vincent Thierry from Chef’s Table at Lebua Hotel and Wilfrid Hocquet from Blue by Alain Ducasse presented a special food display named "Spirit of Food & Music," showcasing the finest French cuisines. Guests were treated to a gastronomic journey reflecting the rich culinary traditions of France.

The VIP cocktail party aimed not only to celebrate the Olympic spirit but also to strengthen the economic and cultural ties between France and Thailand. It was an opportunity to showcase the shared values and mutual respect that bind the two countries, setting the stage for further collaboration and friendship.
