Bangchak Corporation, the first Thai energy firm recognised by Financial Times and Statista, highlights its commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited has been recognised among Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2024 by Financial Times and Statista, becoming the first and only Thai company in the energy and utilities sector to be assessed and included in the ranking. This recognition reinforces Bangchak’s tangible achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions towards becoming a low-carbon organisation.

Chaiwat Kovavisarach, Group Chief Executive Officer and President of Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, stated, “We are delighted and proud that Bangchak has been ranked among Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2024 by the Financial Times, a world-leading news organisation, through a rigorous selection process. Bangchak is the first and only Thai company in the energy and utilities sector to be included in these rankings, along with six Thai companies from various other industries. This is a testament to Bangchak’s unwavering commitment and ongoing efforts to drive sustainable business as a Leader in Energy Transition, reducing the company’s environmental impacts from its business operations and supply chain towards becoming a low-carbon organisation.”

Bangchak was among seven Thai companies included in the Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders list, comprising 350 companies in the Asia-Pacific that have demonstrated outstanding climate action commitments. These include reducing greenhouse gas emissions intensity (scopes 1 and 2) from 2017 to 2022, achieving an absolute decrease in core emissions, and committing to greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.

The Asia-Pacific Climate Leaders 2024 report was published by the Financial Times, the world’s leading news organisation, in collaboration with Statista, a global research company specialising in market and consumer data.
