UOB Thailand has recently partnered with A Solar Corporation to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to decarbonise by adopting renewable energy through solar rooftop installations.
Building on the success of the U-Solar programme, where the bank connects the entire solar ecosystem to make solar energy accessible for businesses and individuals, A Solar Corporation has joined the network of EPC contractors with UOB to offer SMEs installation, commissioning, operations, and after-sales service packages for solar power systems.
Mrs Sayumrat Maranate, Country Function Head of Business Banking at UOB Thailand, stated, "We recognise the growing number of SMEs incorporating environmentally friendly practices into their operations. One key approach is increasing energy efficiency by investing in renewable energy to lower business costs. This aligns with our study, which found that 46 per cent of SMEs have used energy-efficient equipment and technologies, while 43 per cent plan to implement these practices. Our partnership with A Solar reflects the bank’s commitment to simplifying SMEs’ transition to sustainable business and promoting renewable energy adoption in the SME sector."
UOB Thailand will provide SMEs with credit limits at special interest rates without collateral requirements under the agreement with A Solar Corporation to install and maintain the systems.
