As part of MEA initiatives, over 230 schools in MEA responsible areas are provided with electrical system checks for water cooler machines to increase safety in educational institutions.
Sombat Chankrachang, Deputy Governor, Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), along with Suporn Kumwong, Deputy Director-General of the Education Department, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Vatanyu Sewikul, Representative of AIS, presented 90 notebook computers to Wat Bang Pakok School as part of the fundraising activities “Better Bangkok Run 2024.” This event is under the project Run, Bike, Love the World, held in honour of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on 28 July 2024. The contribution event was joined by Nipa Thamborvorn, Assistant Governor (Strategy and Sustainability), MEA along with staff.
Hosted at Wat Bang Pakok School in Bangkok, the event allowed students to enjoy active-based learning through digital education, aiming to improve student efficiency and empower them as future workforces. On this occasion, MEA also conducted electrical system checks for water cooler machines to increase safety in schools.
MEA Deputy Governor stated, “As a state-owned agency under the Ministry of Interior, MEA is responsible for monitoring electricity distribution in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, and Samut Prakan. The notebook computer donation activity is a collaboration between MEA and Advance Info Service Company Limited (AIS) to provide youth, who are the future of Thailand, with access to opportunities and knowledge to keep abreast of the dynamic-changing world.”
The MEA project, undertaken by MEA, includes “Ruam Jai Pak and Do Good for the King” in honour of His Majesty the King on the occasion of the auspicious ceremony of His Majesty the King's 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, 28 July 2024. The purpose of the project is to provide inspection of the electrical systems of drinking water dispensers to increase safety among 275 educational institutions under OBEC in the MEA responsible areas. The schools monitored by MEA are approved for drinking cooler machine standards, drinking water dispenser grounding inspection, and maintenance for safety without expenses. The project has been ongoing since 2005, reaffirming MEA's commitment to valuing public quality of life and safety.
