Aspiring entrepreneurs at Chulalongkorn University are set to gain valuable insights and practical experience through "Beat the Biz 2024 by Whizdom Craftz Samyan," a collaborative initiative between Whizdom Craftz Samyan by MQDC and CEO Chula (Chulalongkorn Entrepreneur Organisation). This contest offers participants the opportunity to learn directly from the owners of over 40 businesses, enhancing their entrepreneurial skills and aligning with the brand's vision to foster a community of knowledgeable and compassionate individuals. Dr Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Senior Vice President of Project Marketing for MQDC, the developer of “Whizdom Craftz Samyan”, said the condominium is collaborating with CEO Chula on “Beat the Biz 2024 by Whizdom Craftz Samyan” for Chulalongkorn University students interested in starting their own businesses.
Contestants will develop skills and knowledge to start a company from business owners. The "crafted" competition aligns with the brand's vision and MQDC's mission to share knowledge to build a community of smart and good-hearted people.
“As Whizdom Craftz Samyan joins the community of Samyan-Rama IV-Bantad Thong-Yaowaraj, we’re thrilled to help hold “Beat the Biz 2024 by Whizdom Craftz Samyan”. This is a great project, so we’re supporting it to give students a platform to express their ideas and show their abilities in developing business models before graduating and entering the real business world.
“This contest will help students develop plans for getting ahead in their careers or running their own businesses. We’re certain that contestants will enhance their potential for helping the country develop,” said Dr Vithaya.
Mr Run Tangkijngamwong, CEO of Chula, said the 5th annual contest for Chulalongkorn students looking to start businesses, “Beat the Biz 2024 by Whizdom Craftz Samyan”, aims to open opportunities for the students to start a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME). SMEs are the foundation of the Thai economy and key to its growth.
CEO Chula aims to help students from all faculties and years who are interested in business and want to learn through hands-on activities. Teams can expect new and unique experiences combining insights with fun.
The contestants will learn about building businesses from scratch through practical experience. They will get advice from business experts in consulting sessions until the final round. In the “Final Pitch”, the contestants will then present their work over nearly 2 months to the judging panel and the many guests.
Throughout the competition, from 6 October to 16 November 2024, contestants will learn from the owners of over 40 well-known businesses. These mentors will act as consultants and give business tips. The teams can bring their products after the contest to the CEO Festival, one of the university’s top events with over 8,000 participants last year.
“I and CEO Chula’s 45-person team thank all the organisations that are taking part. We’re sure this year’s event will excite and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs, not only Chula students. Each year we expect greater achievements. We hope everyone will be inspired to start a business with insights and guidance for sustainable success. We’re thrilled to share valuable insights throughout this contest with everyone,” said Mr Run.
Mr Chanawee Homtoey, CEO of Shinkanzen Sushi, and Mr Varit Bulakul, CEO & Co-Founder of Acai Story, from the advisory committee, said “Beat the Biz 2024” shows the event’s development every year. Having helped Chula students for the past 4 years, they see its highlight as its tangible outcomes. They hope contestants will develop SME ideas and gain effective guidance for developing strong national brands. Compelling brand journeys will boost results and inspire the next generation and aspiring businesspeople.
