Taiwan is inviting Thai entrepreneurs and leading companies worldwide to submit ideas for developing solutions and innovations, presenting sustainability projects in the "Go Green with Taiwan" global proposal campaign. The initiative focuses on promoting technological cooperation for environmental and economic sustainability. Applications are open from today until 31 August.
The "Go Green with Taiwan" global proposal campaign is part of Taiwan’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The campaign focuses on six key sectors: Energy & Storage, Energy Saving, Low-Carbon Transportation, Green Materials, Environmental Equipment, and the Circular Economy. For example, Taiwan is demonstrating its dedication to sustainability by transforming traditionally high-pollution industries with innovative practices, such as using industrial waste to produce low-carbon cement and employing advanced AI systems to optimise steel furnace operations, reducing carbon emissions and increasing energy efficiency. Taiwan also boasts a world-leading recycling rate of 56%, underscoring the nation’s commitment to transforming waste management into a resource-efficient process that supports sustainability efforts. This approach aligns with Thailand's Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model, creating further opportunities for collaboration between the two nations.
The competition will be evaluated based on four categories: environmental and economic sustainability, feasibility, innovation, and connection of products or solutions from Taiwanese enterprises. The six finalists advancing to the final round will travel to Taiwan for the championship round. Up to two team members per team will receive free round-trip economy class airfare to Taiwan, complimentary accommodation, and the opportunity to study Taiwan's sustainable business practices. The top three winners will each receive a prize of USD 20,000, approximately 700,000 THB.
This global proposal campaign is organised by the International Trade Administration (TITA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). Taiwan invites innovators and visionaries worldwide to collaborate in building a sustainable, environmentally friendly future. Those with groundbreaking ideas for sustainable solutions are encouraged to participate by submitting their proposals before 31 August.
