For the 9th consecutive year, C.P. Group supports 20 young leaders at One Young World 2024, focusing on global sustainability challenges.

Charoen Pokphand Group (C.P. Group) and its affiliates place their trust in the potential of youth, sponsoring 20 young representatives from C.P. Group’s business units to participate in One Young World 2024, the world’s largest youth leadership summit. This marks the 9th consecutive year of participation, with the event scheduled from 18 to 21 September 2024 in Montréal, Canada. The summit will unite young leaders from over 190 countries to discuss pressing global issues under the theme "Inspiring Young Leaders for a Sustainable Intelligence World," focusing on five key topics: Indigenous Voices, The Climate and Ecological Crisis, Artificial Intelligence, Health Equality, and Peace.

In preparation for the summit, C.P. Group has organised training sessions for its representatives, including a visit to the CP RAM factory in Lat Lum Kaeo to explore modern food production innovations, as well as workshops from 5-8 August 2024 at the C.P. Leadership Institute in Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima province. Experts on this year’s summit topics shared their insights, equipping the representatives with knowledge to engage in meaningful exchanges with peers from around the world.

Mr. Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group, highlighted the importance of developing "human capital" to address global challenges and achieve sustainable development goals. In particular, he stressed the role of digital transformation through "AI and data" as the world moves into the 5.0 era, where humans and technology converge to build a sustainable intelligence society. This is one of the urgent issues to be addressed at One Young World 2024, alongside other global challenges that require collaborative solutions from youth worldwide.

C.P. Group, including subsidiaries such as Charoen Pokphand Group, Chia Tai, CPF, CP All, CP Axtra, CP CRT, CP Land, Lotus’s, and True, has supported 20 young leaders to join the summit. The group also provided extensive training and knowledge enhancement from experts on urgent global issues, preparing the Thai representatives to share and gain insights with participants from over 190 countries, aiming to foster a sustainable future together.

Dr. Athapol Pecharaply, Director of Engineering for Sustainability at CP Foods, emphasised C.P. Group’s continued support for youth participation in One Young World for the past nine years, recognising these young leaders as crucial to the future. He noted that "The Climate and Ecological Crisis," a critical global issue, will be a focal point at this year’s summit, providing C.P. Group’s representatives with an invaluable opportunity to exchange knowledge with global leaders, benefiting both the company and the nation.

Ms. Worakamon Punark, one of the young representatives, expressed her interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), noting its significance in developing industries and improving societal quality of life. However, she also pointed out the challenges AI presents, such as the need for clear governance, data privacy concerns, and the protection of human-created works. Representing CP at the summit offers a unique chance to connect with like-minded peers and experts, helping to address AI-related challenges effectively.
