DITP Hosts Bangkok RHVAC & E&E 2024 Trade Shows

Southeast Asia’s largest HVACR and E&E events to showcase innovations for a Net Zero future.

The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Club and the Electrical and Electronics Industry Club, under the Federation of Thai Industries, is set to organise the Bangkok Refrigeration, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning 2024 (Bangkok RHVAC 2024) and Bangkok Electric and Electronics 2024 (Bangkok E&E 2024). These events will feature cutting-edge innovations that cater to global market needs, with a wide variety of products and services from renowned local and international manufacturers, all under the theme “One Stop Solutions for Net Zero Future.” The events will take place from 4-7 September 2024 at BITEC, Bangkok.

Ms. Natiya Suchinda, Deputy Director-General of the DITP, revealed that Bangkok RHVAC and Bangkok E&E have long been recognised as the largest trade fairs of their kind in Southeast Asia. Thailand’s HVACR and E&E industries have consistently developed new innovations that meet global demands, making their products highly regarded by buyers worldwide, and solidifying Thailand's position as a leading manufacturer and exporter in these sectors.

This year, the DITP has partnered with the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Club and the Electrical and Electronics Industry Club, under the Federation of Thai Industries, to organise the first full-scale Bangkok RHVAC and Bangkok E&E since the COVID-19 pandemic. The 14th edition of Bangkok RHVAC and the 10th edition of Bangkok E&E will be held under the theme “One Stop Solutions for Net Zero Future.” The events will showcase environmentally friendly technologies that meet the needs of both manufacturers and consumers, with the goal of achieving NET ZERO emissions.

The trade shows will feature 300 exhibitors from Thailand, ASEAN, China, Hong Kong, Korea, India, the Middle East, and Europe, representing manufacturers of air-conditioning products, refrigerators, freezers, compressors, experts in cold storage design and construction, as well as leaders in electrical and electronic products, including home appliances, industrial/power supply, IT, lighting, parts, and accessories. The exhibition will span over 20,000 square metres and is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors from around the globe.

Highlight activities will include special product and innovation showcases, divided into three zones: “One Stop Solutions for Net Zero Future” Exhibition, which will address global warming and climate change and the development of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration and Electric and Electronics industries towards achieving NET ZERO emissions by 2065; “Product Highlight,” which will feature products from exhibitors that meet Net Zero requirements; and “OZONE and e-Waste,” which will present research and information from allied organisations on ozone conservation and electronic waste management.

Additionally, the events will offer a range of seminars on industry-relevant topics such as “Certification Guidelines for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems as Required by Law to Reach Carbon Neutrality,” “HVAC and Nearly Zero Energy Building Approach,” among others, as well as panel discussions with green influencers to advance towards a Net Zero future.

Notably, this year’s event will include a special “Virtual Trade Show,” allowing participants to connect with leading manufacturers and producers from around the world through an online platform without physically attending the event.

Dr. Naran Sirisantana, Chairman of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, stated that while Thailand remains a production base for major international brands, Thai manufacturers must continuously innovate to stay ahead of global trends and meet the demands of both local and international markets. This includes producing more energy-efficient products, utilising environmentally friendly refrigerants, and exploring alternative energy sources such as solar power. Products must be designed with Net Zero in mind, incorporating IoT or AI for maximum efficiency and addressing health concerns such as PM2.5 and indoor air quality.

The Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry is committed to supporting Thailand’s drive towards Net Zero emissions by developing more efficient, energy-saving products that use alternative ozone-friendly refrigerants, promoting the use of cold storage to minimise food loss, which in turn reduces methane emissions from food waste, among other initiatives. Visitors to Bangkok RHVAC 2024 will have the opportunity to explore many innovations designed to contribute to a Net Zero future.

Mr. Suradej Boonyawatana, Chairman of the Electrical and Electronics Industry Club, Federation of Thai Industries, mentioned that this year, Thailand’s export of electrical and electronic products is expected to grow by 5%, with a focus on developing a “High Tech, High Value Supply Chain.” This involves raising the standards of the electronics and semiconductor industries to establish Thailand as a global semiconductor investment hub, and fostering collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the production sector. Major markets for electrical and electronic products include the US, Europe, China, Japan, and ASEAN, with potential for Thailand to serve as a production base for exports by either China or the US.
