SolarEdge Unveils Powerful Inverter for Thai Utility Market

SolarEdge’s TerraMax Inverter promises improved energy efficiency and ROI.

SolarEdge Technologies has launched its high-power, three-phase 330kW TerraMax™ Inverter and H1300 Power Optimizer in Thailand, targeting small-to-medium utility-scale solar projects. Designed to lower costs and increase energy production, the solution is tailored to Thailand’s rapidly growing utility solar sector, offering flexibility for challenging terrains and delivering enhanced system monitoring for greater efficiency. The TerraMax™ Inverter is now available for projects with installations planned from 2024.

The new SolarEdge TerraMax™ Inverter combines advanced Module Level Power Electronics (MLPE) with a centralised topology, allowing large-scale inverters to be installed in a central location while still providing the benefits of module-level optimisation. This setup delivers higher energy yield and improved return on investment (ROI) through 99% inverter efficiency, 200% DC-oversizing, and an integrated Potential Induced Degradation (PID) rectifier.By reducing Balance of System (BoS) costs by up to 50%, and providing continuous and detailed system visibility, the TerraMax™ Inverter aims to increase uptime while minimising operational and maintenance expenses.

The flexibility of this solution allows it to overcome module mismatch and shading losses on uneven terrains, making it well-suited for Thailand’s rapidly expanding utility solar market. The design also conserves resources by reducing the need for extensive site grading.Weeruj Techasuwanna, SolarEdge’s Thailand Country Manager, expressed excitement about the product's potential to reshape utility-scale solar development in Thailand. "The TerraMax™ Inverter will bring substantial value to investors by improving scalability and enhancing the economics of solar projects," he said.

The TerraMax™ Inverter is now available for orders, with installations scheduled for 2024 and beyond, signalling SolarEdge's continued commitment to driving innovation in Thailand's renewable energy landscape.
