Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. continues its collaboration with the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects to advance the use of information technology, enhancing educational opportunities and promoting good health among children and young people.
The "Huawei CSR Digital Bus" project, part of this initiative, was recently showcased during Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's visit to Ban Cham Pado Border Patrol Police School in Bua Chet District, Surin Province, where she oversaw the project’s progress and provided digital skills training to students in remote areas.
During the visit, Mr Edison Xu, Board Director of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and his team reported on the project's progress and demonstrated the Smart Classroom system via an online video conference (Huawei Cloud Meeting) with participating schools. The demonstration highlighted the use of information technology and teaching methods for students on the Digital Bus.
On this occasion, Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. donated IT equipment, including 40 Huawei tablets, 2 Huawei routers, and 1 set of IdeaHub smart screen with the Huawei Cloud Meeting system, to support the Royal Project’s educational development efforts. This donation is aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for children and young people in remote areas, in line with the Royal Initiative.
This year, Huawei has incorporated the principles of the sufficiency economy into the Digital Bus curriculum, tailored to local schools. The curriculum includes equal access to technology, responsible internet usage, and awareness of 5G, IoT, Cloud, AI, and cybersecurity. It also promotes awareness of clean energy, renewable technologies, and green energy, contributing to community development.
"At Huawei, we believe that access to technology is crucial for reducing inequality and creating new opportunities for young people in remote areas. The Digital Bus project is part of our commitment to building a sustainable digital society by bringing knowledge and innovation to communities across Thailand. We are dedicated to supporting education and the development of digital skills for children and young people, who are the future of our country," said Mr Edison Xu.
After observing the Smart Classroom demonstration, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously signed a message of encouragement, emphasising the importance of using technological innovation to promote ethical principles through digital wisdom. This aligns with Huawei's mission to support social and environmental responsibility for a sustainable green world, consistent with its 25-year commitment to Thailand.
To date, Huawei has collaborated with the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects to provide 24 IdeaHub devices and Huawei Cloud Meeting systems for remote teaching and telemedicine, as well as solar energy storage systems for border patrol police schools and local health centres throughout Thailand.
In addition to this project, Huawei Thailand has conducted training programmes to enhance public and youth understanding of digital technology through initiatives such as the Huawei ASEAN Academy, ICT Academy, and Seeds for the Future.
