FutureEd Fest 2024: Crafting the Future of Education

Building on last year's success, FutureEd Fest 2024 attracted over 2,000 participants. The festival showcased educational innovations and technologies, promoting Maker Education to enhance future skills essential for the evolving workplace. 

Highlights included keynote speeches from leading education experts, panel discussions on modern education for the AI era, onsite and hybrid workshops, a Meet-Up Café for community learning networks, a student pitching competition for innovative ideas, and the Thailand Future Ed Awards, recognising outstanding teachers and schools. Exhibitions of educational innovations and a Maker Fest showcasing projects from various institutions were also key attractions.  

The event featured 23 workshops, 6 panel sessions, 7 keynote speeches, 12 exhibitions, 10 Maker Fest schools, 5 Meet-Up Cafés, and 17 finalist pitching teams from over 200 national applicants. The Thailand Future Ed Awards honoured 10 innovative teachers and schools, along with certificates for 10 organisational leaders driving educational change. These activities created meaningful opportunities, addressing the need for modern education and fostering a culture of learning. 

Dr. Nanthaporn Janchalia Seributra, CEO of Starfish Education, remarked, “As the initiator of FutureEd Fest, we emphasise that lifelong learning is the new global standard. Adaptability is crucial. Technology helps everyone work better but does not replace us, and the key to success is personalising learning to fit individual needs.” 

The event was honoured by the presence of Dr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Deputy Minister of Education, who delivered a keynote speech stating, “Education must be flexible and gentle enough to accommodate the dreams of children, which may vary. It must be safe enough for them to explore and find their own dreams.” This powerful message highlighted the benefits of such an educational festival for all, especially educators, directors, teachers, and parents, who gain numerous new ideas, as well as lifelong learners who can design responsive learning experiences for true development.
