Thailand’s public healthcare system faces a unique paradox—it’s available to everyone, but for many, it remains inaccessible. Patients in public hospitals often wait over an hour and a half for basic medical consultations, even for minor ailments. The problem intensifies in rural areas, where healthcare facilities are sparse, and travel to the nearest hospital can take hours. In response to this critical issue, the Telemedics Club, led by 17-year-old Ty Nilvichean and Kamisra Mahavanidvong, has collaborated with Clicknic, a telemedicine company, to address the gap in healthcare access. Together, they’ve launched a bi-weekly initiative that provides free healthcare consultations and medication to underserved communities.
“I firmly believe that Ty has the potential to implement this innovative solution in all of Thailand, helping hundreds and thousands of citizens in need,” said Clicknic’s CMO, Sintorn Santitorn.
The inspiration for Telemedics came from firsthand experiences in rural Thailand and visits to slums. These communities, while vibrant and resilient, struggle with limited access to essential healthcare services. Recognizing the need for an innovative solution, the Telemedics Club began leveraging Clicknic’s telemedicine platform to bring healthcare directly to the homes of those in need.
The app has the capacity to diagnose and manage 42 minor illnesses, including common conditions like colds, skin infections, and gastrointestinal issues. Using video consultations, patients can connect with licensed doctors, receive medical advice, and get prescriptions—all without having to leave their homes. The process is simple but highly effective, eliminating long waits at overcrowded public hospitals and reducing the financial burden of travel for rural residents. Medication is then delivered directly to the patient’s door, further streamlining the process and ensuring timely care.
The bi-weekly healthcare trips organized by Telemedics have transformed how healthcare is accessed in these underserved regions, including trips to places like Wat Santi Thammaram and the Taling Chan Floating Market to help these people in need.

“I am really proud of these students who have the vision to do good for the society and people in need,” said Chaianan Satayapiwat, CTO of Clicknic
By partnering with Clicknic, the club has been able to distribute free medication to those who need it most. The initiative not only addresses immediate healthcare needs but also fosters a deeper sense of trust and connection between the medical community and rural populations.
One of the key strengths of the Telemedics initiative is its focus on sustainability. Rather than offering one-off solutions, the club has worked to establish a consistent model that delivers healthcare services on a regular basis. The team of students behind Telemedics has collaborated closely with healthcare professionals, local community leaders, and Clicknic’s medical staff to ensure that the initiative can continue to grow and support more communities over time. By creating a reliable healthcare network, Telemedics is helping to reduce the long-term strain on Thailand’s public healthcare system while offering vital care to those in need.

Telemedics is a testament to the power of innovation and collaboration in solving complex social challenges. By utilizing telemedicine, the club has found a creative way to bridge the gap between urban healthcare resources and rural communities, demonstrating that technology can be a powerful tool for good. The club’s efforts highlight how grassroots initiatives, led by young people, can address systemic issues and create lasting change.
Looking ahead, the Telemedics Club plans to expand its outreach to more rural areas across Thailand, ensuring that even more people can benefit from their services. "We’re just getting started," says Ty Nilvichean. "Our goal is to make healthcare accessible to everyone, no matter where they live."
By providing a solution that is both innovative and compassionate, the club is making a tangible difference in people’s lives, one consultation at a time. Through their work, Telemedics is proving that healthcare doesn’t have to be out of reach—it can be as simple as a click away.
