“Light of Heart” Maternity Unit Opens in Tak

New facility supports over 20,000 locals with comprehensive maternity care.

The Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation, in collaboration with Umphang Hospital, inaugurated the “Light of Heart” maternity unit in Baan Pengkleng, Umphang District, Tak Province.

The event was attended by Mr. Sonngan Jaiyake, Deputy Director of the Tak Provincial Public Health Office; Dr. Worawit Tantiwatanasap, Director of Umphang Hospital; Dr. Wit Soontaranun, Committee Member and Treasurer of the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation; Mr. Torsak

Kirikarakade, Acting Director of Baan Pengkleng Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital; Mr. Aphichat Sutchalaomalai, Village Headman of Baan Pengkleng; and Mr. Surapol Saengsong, Chairman of the Village Health Volunteers of Baan Pengkleng, along with local residents and expectant mothers.

“Light of Heart” Maternity Unit Opens in Tak

This essential facility, benefiting over 20,000 people in the area, was built with a donation of 5.9 million baht from the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation. Additionally, the Bhuddharaksa Foundation contributed 850,700 baht to equip the centre.

The “Light of Heart” maternity unit is equipped with a delivery room, waiting room, emergency treatment room, outpatient room, malaria clinic, and a doctor’s room.

As part of the opening, 40 expectant households received gift sets from Mr. Chanand Sophonpanich and Ms. Kamolnan Chearavanont Sophonpanich through the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation, as well as essential items for newborns from The Voice Foundation.

Within a day of its inauguration, the “Light of Heart” maternity unit celebrated its first birth, marking a hopeful beginning for the facility’s service to the community.
