The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) continues its mission to provide clean drinking water to communities in line with the policies of the government and the Ministry of Interior. The latest clean drinking water service point, a Mini Station, has been inaugurated at the Khuan Don Water Production Plant within the service area of the PWA Satun Branch, Satun Province. This initiative aims to enhance residents' quality of life by providing access to clean and safe drinking water, reducing household expenses, and expanding services across all PWA branches nationwide.

Sabida Thaised, Deputy Minister of Interior, emphasised that the PWA prioritises public health and well-being through its water supply services. The development of drinkable tap water and the implementation of the Mini Station Clean Drinking Water Project are key to improving the quality of life for people by offering affordable, safe drinking water. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior’s mission of “Relieving Hardship, Enhancing Happiness” and the “Clean Drinking Water for the People” policy introduced by Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior. Ms. Sabida encouraged the PWA to continue its efforts to ensure equitable access to clean water for all citizens nationwide.

Chakapong Kamchan, PWA Governor, explained that the Mini Station Clean Drinking Water Project involves installing service points in prefabricated buildings located at PWA offices, service units, or production and distribution stations. Using reverse osmosis (RO) technology and ultraviolet (UV) sterilisation, the system can produce up to 2,000 litres of clean drinking water per hour. Launched in 2024, the project is set to expand across the country. Residents, organisations, and agencies can bring water trucks, drinking water tanks, or clean water containers to access the service at the Mini Stations.

Atsada Chusin, Deputy Governor of Operations 5 at PWA, noted that the Mini Station at the PWA Satun Branch is the first of its kind in the southern region. PWA plans to establish additional service points in Phatthalung, Narathiwat, and Songkhla provinces in 2025. These expansions aim to improve public access to clean drinking water, reduce costs, and enhance the quality of life for individuals and communities in the region.
