GO WHOLESALE Opens in Hat Yai to Boost Local Economy

New food wholesale hub enhances business growth and supports local agriculture in southern Thailand.

GO WHOLESALE, a leading food wholesale centre under Central Retail, is expanding its business footprint with the opening of its 13th branch in the heart of Hat Yai. This new outlet is set to enhance business opportunities while supporting the local economy and tourism in southern Thailand. The store brings together premium fresh food ingredients from around the globe, along with locally sourced agricultural products, promoting sustainable livelihoods for Thai farmers.

Suchada Ithijarukul, CEO Group Thailand & International of Central Food Wholesale Co., Ltd., said that Hat Yai is a key centre for trade, transport, and tourism in the South. A multicultural city renowned for its diverse cuisine, Hat Yai draws both local and international tourists, especially from Malaysia. This presents growth opportunities for businesses, particularly in the HoReCa (Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering) sector and for small retail operators. GO WHOLESALE Hat Yai aims to cater to these entrepreneurs by offering a one-stop solution for fresh ingredients and wholesale products.

Spanning Over 9,000 Square Metres

Located opposite Prince of Songkla University, the Hat Yai branch offers more than 15,000 products with a strong focus on fresh food, establishing itself as the "House of Fresh." The live seafood section features prawns, shellfish, crabs, and fish directly sourced from premium producers worldwide. Meat lovers can explore premium cuts, including Dry-Aged beef. Customised meat and fish cutting services are available to help business owners save time and manage costs effectively.

The store also features a comprehensive frozen and chilled section with vegetables, fruits, meats, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat meals. Additionally, a Beverage Solution zone provides expert advice and creative business ideas for café operators.

Do Not Miss Gofe’ Café

The Gofe’ café zone offers three highly popular dishes: Rotisserie Chicken, known for its tenderness and rich marinade; Western-style BBQ Pork Ribs; and creamy Soft Serve Ice Cream. New to the menu is the Two-Flavoured Sundae Ice Cream, available in strawberry and chocolate.

Supporting Local Farmers and Communities

GO WHOLESALE Hat Yai actively partners with farmers from Songkhla and neighbouring provinces to sell their produce in-store. Collaborating on crop planning and quality improvements, the company helps expand farmers’ reach to other branches. Key local products include organic vegetables from the Tai Rom Boon Organic Network and Three-Water Barramundi from Songkhla Lake.

The branch also provides space for the "Community Market," hosting 55 booths for OTOP (One Tambon, One Product) businesses and local enterprises to showcase and sell their products free of charge from 12–28 February 2024.

“We expect a positive response from entrepreneurs seeking high-quality ingredients and wholesale products to optimise cost management,” Suchada said. “Combined with government initiatives such as the 10,000 Baht Cash Giveaway (Phase 2), Easy E-Receipt 2.0, and increased tourism, purchasing power is expected to rise, stimulating local and national business growth.”

GO WHOLESALE now operates 13 branches across Thailand, including Srinakarin, Chiang Mai, Amata Chonburi, South Pattaya, Rama 2, Rangsit, Ramkhamhaeng, Rawai, Phuket City, Charoen Rat, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, and the newly launched Hat Yai branch.
