Love was in the air—and on the rails—as couples celebrated Valentine’s Day in an extraordinary way by exchanging vows aboard the SRT Red Line train. The Love in the Sky 2025 event transformed Bangkok’s suburban train into a unique wedding venue, offering 24 couples a once-in-a-lifetime experience to register their marriage while enjoying scenic views of the city and Don Mueang International Airport.
Dr Wantanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), presided over the opening ceremony of Love in the Sky 2025 to mark this year’s Valentine’s Day.
The event took place at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district through a collaboration between the Chatuchak District Office and SRT Electrified Train (SRTET), operator of the SRT Red Line. This initiative aimed to offer couples a truly unique experience on their special day.
Dr Wantanee congratulated the 24 couples as they embarked on their journey into married life and joined them on the Train of Love, making history with the first-ever marriage registration aboard an electric train.

Phatthakon Sinsuk, Director of Chatuchak District, served as the registrar for the marriage registration, while SRTET Managing Director Suthep Phanpheng also attended the event to extend his congratulations.
Love in the Sky 2025 marks a new milestone in Bangkok’s history, as an electric train became a venue for couples of all ages and genders to express their love, reflecting social values of acceptance and respect for diversity.
The highlight of the event was the marriage registration on the SRT Red Line suburban train, where couples exchanged vows against a picturesque backdrop of Bangkok’s suburbs and Don Mueang International Airport.
The 24 couples captured exclusive moments in areas usually inaccessible to the public, such as the Red Line train’s driver cabin, with a unique view of Don Mueang Airport.

Participants received an array of gifts, including a 1.8-litre rice cooker with a special design, global travel insurance from Dhipaya Insurance, a heart-shaped landscape photo of Phu Kradueng National Park taken by the THEOS-2 satellite from the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), gift sets from PTT Group, vouchers from Big C Supercentre, and gifts from Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel, Best Western Chatuchak Hotel, Vita Daily Stick, and other sponsors.
This activity not only celebrated love and marriage registration on Valentine’s Day but also highlighted the power of love and respect for human diversity.
All participating couples demonstrated their commitment to starting their journey together in a unique setting—travelling on the Red Line train, which symbolises the connection of hearts and unbounded love.
