The festival kicked off with an opening ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who led a colourful parade alongside leading celebrities including Jeff Satur, Ling Ling Sirilak Kwong, Aom Kornnapat Sethratanapong, and Aim Sanphet Kunakorn. Their appearance set the tone for an exciting celebration of “Splash, Dance, Play, Eat, Shop – Unforgettable Fun!”
Mr Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, CEO of King Power Group, said the company is proud to support Thailand’s global tourism push during Songkran, aligning with the government’s Thailand Summer Festivals initiative from March to September 2025. “Our vision, The Power of Possibilities, aims to elevate Rangnam into a year-round global festival destination. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects 3–4 million international tourists during this year’s Songkran festival, with an estimated revenue of 25 billion baht.
Organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, TAT, and the Rangnam community, the event exemplifies Thailand’s soft power through a creative tourism approach. In 2024 alone, King Power’s festivals generated over 400 million baht in spending, reinforcing Rangnam’s identity as a district rooted in the creative economy. This year, the event is expected to boost Q2 traffic by 20%.
