Global Dance Talent Shines at ATOD 2025

Over 1,000 young dancers from 34 nations compete in Bangkok for a Royal Trophy and scholarships abroad.

With the support from Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Ministry of Culture, the ATOD Children and Youth Development Association is organising the ATOD International Dance Competition 2025. Competitors will vie for the Royal Trophy graciously granted by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Led by Dr.M.L. Preeyapun Sridhavat, President of the ATOD Children and Youth Development Association, the event is supported by partners including Sansha Bangkok, Innovative Asia Co., Ltd., Taokaenoi Public Company Limited, Thai TV Channel 3, Sikarin Hospital, International Cultural Promotions Co., Ltd., Aksra Theatre, King Power International Co., Ltd., and 84 dance institutions.

This year's competition features dancers from 34 nationalities, with both video submissions—judged in Australia—and live performances held at the Aksra Theatre. More than 1,000 contestants participated over the nine-day event. Top scorers will receive sponsorship to compete in Australia in July 2025, as well as scholarships to study at Queensland Ballet School (Australia), Marlupi Dance Academy (Indonesia), and Singapore Ballet Limited.

The competition offers a global platform for young dancers to showcase their talents in a welcoming and culturally rich environment. It runs from Saturday, March 15 to Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Aksra Theatre, King Power, Rangnam Road, Bangkok, with daily award presentations by representatives of various ministries and foreign embassies.

The highest overall scorer in the open category is Ms. Leeyakon Assavaniwest, while Miss Jiya Baikloy claimed the top spot in the dance syllabus category. Passion Dance School, led by Ms. Jirachaya Tanchaingam, achieved the highest institutional scores across both categories.

Winners of the Young Star Award 2025 include Kunita Ratanagoses (Step Dance School), Buabuddha Amelie Rojanakemakul (Watch Me Dance School), Nattakarn Kunagonjittiruk (Breathe Dance School), Nattharin Watcharachaipinan (Pose Dance School), and Ishani Wahegaonkar from Australia.

Dr. Phonphum Vipattipumiprates, Vice Minister for Culture, presided over the Royal Cup Award Presentation Ceremony and conducted the blessing ceremony, standing as a witness to the achievements of the winners.

Ms. Susan Phoebe R. Sabado, Third Secretary and Vice Consul for Economics and Cullture, The Embassy of the Philippines, Dr. M.L. Preeyapun Sridhavat / President, ATOD Children and Youth Development Association  and competition committees honovred the winners awards.

All top scorers and gold medalists—totalling 600—had the honour of receiving congratulatory messages and posing for photos with H.E. Police General Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, and H.E. Dr. Angela Jane Macdonald, Australian Ambassador to Thailand, on the evening of March 23 at Aksra Theatre, before returning safely to their home countries.
