When you stay at Twinpalms MontAzure, they've got it all for you

TRAVEL
Hakuna Matata

Phuket has long been a beach getaway for locals and tourists, and for good reason. Especially if you're a Bangkokian like me, who can resist a quick weekend getaway complete with great sights, mouth-watering food and fantastic beaches -- all of which can be reached within an hour's flight? Of course, while Phuket is a great destination, there's more aspects to a great trip that have to be planned out and that could be a little stressful. Soon enough, you'll find yourself having a headache just trying to sort out details for a vacay and once you finally do go on the trip, you start wondering whether all that stress (and the money you spent, which made your bank account run dry) was even worth it. Vacays and getaways should be stress-free, enjoyable and despite being perhaps a little pricey, still worth every single dime you spend. Enter Twinpalms MontAzure, your next beach destination. Seriously, this is your next vacay. It's not a suggestion and you'll see why.

FIRST IMPRESSION

Twinpalms MontAzure is ocean-side at Kamala Beach while also being surrounded by majestic, green mountains. If it wasn't obvious already, the location is gorgeous. It offers great views if you get yourself an ocean view room and the view at the back isn't so bad either with the lush mountains rising up before you. The resort itself blends in beautifully with its surroundings, which is no accident. Martin Palleros and his team made sure that the hotel will not only fit in beautifully with the environment but also preserve it. With its minimalistic yet elegant design, Twinpalms MontAzure proves that there's luxury in simplicity. Add the fact that you've got the ocean in front and the mountains in the back and it's definitely not a bad place to be. Twinpalms MontAzure, however, is just the beginning. In a few years, the whole area is being developed under the MontAzure name to be a vacay destination for all, complete with dining spots, glam hotels while being surrounded by the beauty of nature. Keep an eye out for the developments that will be happening in the area.

STAYING IN

Twinpalms isn't a stranger to Phuket with their first location located minutes away at Surin Beach. Twinpalms MontAzure bears the name with pride and rightfully so. Much like its predecessor, it doesn't skimp on the trappings of a luxurious stay. Aside from its stunning location, Twinpalms MontAzure offers its guests what I'd like to call the "hakuna matata" stay -- all guests have to do is relax to the max and let TwinPalms MontAzure take care of you, assuring your stay to be completely worry-free. The resort boasts 46 different rooms for you to choose from: Suites, Private Pool Suites and Penthouses. Whether you've got budget constraints so you choose the cheapest one, which is priced at B16,400 during the low season, or you've got the money to spare so you #TreatYoSelf, rest assured that you'll still get that glam Twinpalms experience. If you went for the Private Pool, you not only get a swanky room you may never want to leave but you also get a pool on the top floor with a breathtaking view of the ocean, which makes it even harder to leave. Whatever room you choose, you won't have to worry about getting a lesser experience. With its minimalist design, the softest beds and sheets to ever grace your spine and the most fantastic bathrooms, you'll definitely get your money's worth.

GOING OUT

I have to be honest, I'm someone who's more than content just enjoying the room. But there's a bunch of stuff you can enjoy during your stay at Twinpalms MontAzure. For one, you've got a bunch of dining options at your fingertips. Within the resort itself is their gorgeous beachside restaurant, Shimmer. This is where you'll be eating your breakfast complete with ocean breezes and a view of the magnificent sunrise as it rises on the horizon, all while you're feasting on your eggs Benedict with juicy salmon much like I did for the five days I was there (yes, I stayed for five days and yes, I still wished it was longer). Of course, you can also have lunch and dinner here and they've got a variety of international dishes for you to choose from, from steaks to pastas to quesadillas. Walk down the beach a bit and you'll find yourself at HQ Beach Lounge, yet another location for you to dine at where you can enjoy healthy selections and just... well, lounge about lazily if you feel like it as you enjoy the sounds of the crashing waves. Want a view of the tantalising sunset while you nurse a drink and prep for dinner? Look no further than Palm Seaside where you can enjoy the freshest of seafoods. If you're the type to want to end the night with a bang then Catch Beach Club is where it's at, complete with great food, great music, great drinks and great company. All these choices may seem overwhelming but don't worry, all of them are accessible by foot or by the complimentary shuttle service provided by the resort.

It's not just dining that's to be had at Twinpalms MontAzure. Relaxation may be the whole theme of your beach vacay and if that's the case, you can book a spa treatment and they'll take you to Twinpalms at Surin for an hour or two-hour treatment that will take all the stress away. Phuket is known for its beautiful beaches and gorgeous islands, so who can say no to a bit of cruising around? If you've got the dough, go ahead and book a yacht for the day or overnight with Andaman Cruises and they'll take you around Phang Nga Bay where you can enjoy some of the most beautiful views the island has to offer. You might even stumble into some marine life like I did -- we were fortunate enough to actually have a dolphin swimming alongside the boat! Want to witness a majestic animal in its full glory? Plan a trip to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary where you can watch elephants who have been rescued from abusive situations finally happy, healthy and roaming around in their natural habitat. If you book your stay on a Sunday, then make sure to visit Phuket Old Town. Not only is it rich in history, it also has great architecture to be admired and, admittedly, to be IGed. Plus, there's the weekend market which has great souvenirs, as well as local treats you can try.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Twinpalms MontAzure offers a worry-free stay complete with fine food, breathtaking views and great rooms you'll probably never want to leave. Obviously, you'll have to shell out some cash for it but it's all about getting your money's worth. And trust, you definitely get it when you stay at Twinpalms MontAzure.
