Food truck fiesta
Thailand plans to break the world record for the largest parade of food trucks next month.
The Food Truck Festival is the first of its kind in the Kingdom. Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Food Truck Club (Thailand), it takes place on March 7-8 at Impact Lakeside, a 152,450m² outdoor space, which was also the venue for the largest serving of mango sticky rice that broke the Guinness World Record in January last year.
More than 200 food truck vendors will take part in the fair. The current record is 158 food trucks, set at the International Food Festival in Penang, Malaysia, in April 2018.
TAT also hopes that the event will further promote the country's reputation for clean, quality street food.

Booking.com is launching the Bangkok Booking Bus, a blue and white modified camping bus, offering a once-in-a-life-time camper van experience.
According to research conducted by the website, about 42% of Thai travellers would like to stay at least once in alternative accommodation. The reason was not only to feel inspired but to impress their friends by turning to alternative accommodation types as a way of expressing their individuality.
The Bangkok Booking Bus can accommodate up to two people. It features a king-size bed, toilet, shower area, living space, dining table, a small refrigerator, electric kettle and mini toaster.
To promote the bus, Booking.com is giving an opportunity for those who are interested in the service to stay for overnight on Feb 22. Reservations will open at 8pm on Feb 20. The bus will be parked at Asiatique The Riverfront on Charoen Krung Road. The room rate is 2,000 baht.
After the event, Booking.com will donate the bus to Local Alike, a Thai travel social enterprise focusing on local communities, and a 2017 Booking Booster participant who will make use of this bus in their journey to sustainability.
