The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has celebrated its 60th anniversary by launching three special publications for free download.
It aims to provide a history of Thai tourism and the TAT since 1960.
The first book is titled Sixty Years Of Pride. It features a number of historic images of the TAT offices, Thailand and Bangkok in the 1960s. The information is presented in Thai and English.
The second book is TAT The Journey. It focuses on TAT's policy and planning perspectives, including statistical records, crisis management challenges and research projects. The book is available in Thai only.
The third book is an e-photo book titled Open To Panoramic Thailand. It offers spectacular images of 114 places with captions in Thai only.
Bus routes still not in service
The Transport Company has extended its closure of interprovincial bus routes to the end of this month.
Only van and minibus services are still available at three major terminals -- Mo Chit, Ekamai and Southern terminals.
Their destinations, however, must be within 300km from Bangkok such as Hua Hin, Sakaeo and Nakhon Ratchasima.

Travel campaign
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) has launched the "#TogetherInTravel" campaign.
The campaign encourages travellers to share memories using #TogetherInTravel to keep the spirit of travel alive when people are forced to stay home and endure social distancing.
"Dreaming is part of our zest for life and our new campaign encourages thoughts of the brighter days ahead. Travel & Tourism is a critical sector to the global economy, accounting for one in four of all new jobs worldwide and contributing 10.3% to GDP," said WTTC president & CEO Gloria Guevara.
"Our message is that everyone can still stay inspired with future travel ideas and bookings -- and in the meantime be part of a virtual space for sharing, connecting, and collectively inspiring."

Seating guidelines
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand has announced a guideline for airlines to board passengers safely during the Covid-19 outbreak.
While the state of emergency is still enforced, airlines can offer only domestic flights. Each flight must keep middle seats empty except at some sections of aircraft that have enough space for social distancing. The rule is not applied for small aircraft with fewer than 19 seats.
For aircraft with less than 90 seats, airlines can offer up to 70% of the total number of seats.
Social distancing must be applied for checking in passengers, boarding, and at the departure and arrival gates. Non-contact infrared thermometers should be used to check the temperature of each passenger before boarding. Hand sanitiser must be available at airports.
Passengers must wear masks at all times or when they are in the airport and the aircraft. If the passengers refuse to do so, the airlines can deny service. Food, snacks and drinks will not be available while passengers are not allowed to have a meal during flights.
For aircrew, they must have personal protective equipment including masks, disposable gloves, goggles or eye protection, face shield and protective clothing. The right seat of the last row must be reserved for onboard emergency quarantine.
Lastly, each aircraft must be disinfected before boarding passengers.
AIRLINES UPDATE
- Thai Airways has launched THAI Catering Chef's Signature Meal Box for delivery.
Samples of the menu include the Unagi Kabayaki Box (rice with Japanese eel), stir-fried tiger prawn with khao hom nin, tandoori lamb chop and coconut layer cake. Customers may pre-order their meal one day in advance.

- Thai VietJet Air will offer Bangkok-Hefei flights starting from June 16.
Hefei is the capital of Anhui, the eastern Chinese province which is known for the natural beauty of the Huangshan Mountains and the hometown of Chinese opera.
The flight will depart Suvarnabhumi at 3.35pm and land in Hefei at 8.35pm. The return flight will depart at 9.35pm and arrive in Bangkok at 12.40am. The flying time is about four hours.
