Museum Lampang has officially opened after a soft launch in January last year.

The project is a co-operation between the Office of Knowledge Management and Development; the National Discovery Museum Institute (NDMI), or Museum Siam; Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park); and Lampang City Municipality.

The museum is located on a 9 rai plot of land at the old City Hall in Lampang on Wachirawut Damnoen Road.

The facility features permanent exhibitions and a TK Park library offering up to 3,000 books. The exhibition zone comprises 16 rooms displaying items and information with interactive technology about the history of Lampang, archaeological sites, development of the province, culture and arts.

Museum Lampang is open from Tuesday to Sunday and holidays from 9am to 5pm. It is closed on Mondays. The museum organises group tour services six rounds a day starting from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

Theme park eyes October reopening

Legend Siam, a 4 billion baht theme park in Chon Buri, will reopen on Oct 2.

The 164 rai park temporarily shut down due to the Covid-19 outbreak on March 3. Being known as Thailand's first cultural theme park, it represents arts and culture from all 77 provinces. The park features Siam Vilize for showing the Early Rattanakosin Era, Thai Araya Experience for local festivities such as temple fairs, and Bhumi Pan Din to learn about popular historical events through shows and exhibitions.

The park plans to return with new attractions including a floating market and new food and shopping outlets.

Bus rentals to get cheaper

Nakhonchai Air interprovincial bus operator has launched promotions of up to 20% off for its microbus services.

Prices start at 7,900 baht from 9,900 baht per day for renting a 16-seat Toyota Coaster and 9,900 baht from 12,000 baht for an 18-seat or 20-seat Mercedes Benz. The discount prices include fuel and tolls.

The promotion is available for booking until Oct 31 and for travelling within Dec 15.

AIRLINES UPDATE

- Thai AirAsia will launch four domestic routes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport around the end of October.

It will be the only low-cost airline that will fly from both Bangkok airports. The airline will provide direct flights from Suvarnabhumi to Chiang Mai (five daily flights), Phuket (three daily flights), Krabi (two daily flights) and Surat Thani (two daily flights).

Meanwhile, the airline is also introducing SNAP to offer flight and hotel packages. The service is available as an option for those who book the airline's flights.

HOTEL DEALS & UPDATE

- Onyx Hospitality Group has introduced the Saffron Collection as a portfolio of individual boutique hotels and resorts.

By the end of this year, it will open the Oriental Residence Bangkok and The Five Residences Hanoi, followed by The George in Penang around the middle of next year and Indochina Hotel in Sa Kaeo's Aranyaprathet district in early 2022.

- Maitria Hotel Sukhumvit 18 Bangkok has partnered with Bumrungrad International Hospital to launch Alternative State Quarantine accommodation packages.

Prices start from 58,000 baht net per person per room for 15 nights stay in a Studio Superior to 115,000 baht net per person for a two-bedroom suite. The hotel offers 5% discounts for Thai citizens until Dec 31.
