TRAVEL

The Culture Ministry has joined hands with Next To Be Company to launch the Treasure Trip Bangkok app. The aim is to promote attractions, shopping outlets, restaurants and cafes near subway and Skytrain stations.

The app features an interactive "Metro Map", where users can select stations. The app then will show details of the route, including estimated travel time and nearby tourist places of the chosen stations.

The app also has an "Attractions" function with seven themes including "Culture & History", "Museum" and "Entertainment". When clicking on each theme, it will link to choices of attractions plus brief information of each site, users' reviews and ratings.

The "One Day Theme Trips" feature offers ideas for tourism routes as well.

The app supports Thai and English languages and can be downloaded free on Android and iOS smartphones.

Supporting SMEs

The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration has partnered with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency and Lazada to help promote e-commerce services to small and medium enterprises and communities in Pattaya and its vicinity.

They recently launched a prototype website and a mobile app called Smart Active Beach. The e-market place offers tourism information, promotions of hotels, resorts, spas, restaurants and attractions. Choices of local fruits, processed food and snacks as well as crafts are also available.

The information is available in Thai, English, Chinese and Russian.
