The Tourism Authority of Thailand's (TAT) Phuket office has extended the "Phuket Great Time" campaign.

It aims to stimulate tourism on the island, especially during Chinese New Year and upcoming Valentine's Day.

The Phuket Great Time #2 campaign is offering about 100 special deals from hotels and resorts, restaurants, tour agents, attractions, car rental service providers and souvenir shops.

The campaign is also still offering an opportunity for any interested party to join and offer promotions through phuketgreattime.com.

Agency seeks innovative communities

The National Innovation Agency has joined hands with the Community Organisation Development Institute to launch the "Social Innovation Village: Idea Hacks" programme.

The aim is to encourage communities to innovate solutions to their problems. Those who apply need to describe problems in their communities and the innovative projects they need.

The last day for registration is March 31.

AIRLINES UPDATE

- Thai Vietjet has launched SkyFun PowerPass offering unlimited flights to domestic destinations.

The net prices for six and 12-month passes are 12,840 baht and 20,330 baht, respectively.

The offer is available until Feb 14. The SkyFun PowerPass is also available at Thai Ticket Major (thaiticketmajor.com or Call Center 02-262-3456) and Big Service counter at Big C nationwide.

- SilkAir has merged its services and nine Boeing 737-800 aircraft with Singapore Airlines, ending its 30-year run of airline operations as a premium, short-haul regional wing of Singapore Airlines.

The plan was announced in 2018 to optimise Singapore Airline Group's network.

After the integration, the airline plans to launch direct flights from Singapore to Phuket, starting on March 4, and to Bandar Seri Begawan on March 15.

HOTEL DEALS & UPDATES

- S Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of Singha Estate, has opened SAii Laguna Phuket and SAii Phi Phi Island Village targeting the high-end market.

According to the company, SAii, which derives from the Thai word for "sand", was first introduced in 2019 as SAii Lagoon Maldives before its launch in the Kingdom.

SAii Laguna Phuket is located in Laguna Phuket on Bang Tao Beach. The resort offers various types of rooms with space usage starting from a 43m² Ocean View or Lagoon View room to a 104m² Ocean View or Ocean Front suite. Other resort facilities are a spa, fitness, restaurant and bar.

Meanwhile, the SAii Phi Phi Island Village has been renovated to Phi Phi Island Village Beach Resort located on Ao Nang Beach. It provides rooms starting from a 45m² Superior Room to a 150m² two-bedroom Hillside Pool Villa.

To promote the launch, the resorts have launched a "Ready To SAii-in'' promotion. The prices for a night stay start from 2,499 baht for the property in Phuket and 3,750 baht for the resort on Phi Phi Island.

The offer includes daily breakfast and a 25% discount on F&B and spa treatments. Booking is available until Feb 28 for a stay until June 30.
