The Colourful Phuket campaign will run until the end of this month to welcome tourists to the resort island.
Organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Phuket Province, the festival has a weekly theme and was launched this month to promote the government's Phuket sandbox scheme. This week, the highlights are art artefacts on Patong beach, including a 5m-tall jellyfish. Street music is also hosted on the beach from 3-9pm until tomorrow.
Between July 24-31, a projection art mapping display will be organised at Peranakan Phuket Museum from 7-9pm while street music will be hosted on Soi Rommani in the Old Town district.

Krabi goes all in for durian
The Tourism Authority of Thailand's Krabi Office has launched a green campaign to promote durians in Ban Thale Hoi in Plai Phraya district.
Known for its white sandy beaches and crystal clear water, Krabi also has farmlands and orchards open as agrotourism destinations. At Ban Thale Hoi, about a two-hour drive from the city and Krabi airport, locals farm various durian varieties in their orchards. Among them are monthong, kanyao and phuang mani. Thanks to the fertile land and weather, the durian trees yield healthy fruits. The taste is sweet and creamy. As a result, local authorities wanted to promote the fruits to tourists and launched the Durian Thale Hoi festival.
Almost 20 orchards have joined the campaign. They have opened their doors for farm tours since the beginning of this month. Among them are Suan Mae Tao (091-823-0758), Suan Phi Khai (095-976-3952) and Suan Phi Dao (085-477-9060).
In addition, TAT also has joined hands with local business operators including hotels, restaurants, tour agents and spas to offer discounts and promotions.
Plai Phraya District is a low profile destination of the province. Its tourist attractions are natural places such as Bang Tao Mae waterfall and Waririn Cave.
