Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is getting ready to welcome guests for the Loy Krathong festival which falls on Nov 19 this year.

As Chiang Mai's Ping River is expected to come alive as residents and holidaymakers embark on its banks and release beautiful lotus-shaped rafts -- decorated with candles, incense and flowers to the Goddess of Water on the lawns of Anantara by the river -- guests can enjoy a buffet dinner featuring delights from around the world. Each table will receive a complimentary krathong and the entertainment includes a magical Lanna dance performance by Waewdao Sirisuk.

Pathumwan Princess bags SHA+ certification

Pathumwan Princess Hotel has been awarded Thailand's Safety & Health Administration SHA Plus+ certification from the Tourism Authority of Thailand. The "+" signifies that more than 70% of the hotel's employees have been fully vaccinated.

SHA Plus+ follows The Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) certification programme launched last year in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and requires strict compliance with "new normal" standards of hygiene, health and safety. Pathumwan Princess was SHA-accredited in June 2020.

In addition, the hotel is certified in accordance with the Safe Travels Standards of the World Travel & Tourism Council.

Hilton opens new branch in Nagasaki

Hilton recently announced the opening of Hilton Nagasaki, which marks Hilton's first hotel in the city and second in the Kyushu region. The hotel is located west of Nagasaki Station, offering easy access to Nagasaki's most popular sights and landmarks such as Mount Inasa, as well as Unesco World Heritage sites such as the Glover Garden and Oura Cathedral.

Dream Cruises introduces vaccine mandate

Dream Cruises has announced new guidelines to provide safe cruises for guests and crew and all World Dream sailings with effect from Nov 21. The company will now require guests to be fully vaccinated for Covid-19, excluding children aged 12 years and below.

Vaccinated guests must receive the full regimen of Covid-19 vaccines at least 14 days before the cruise date to be eligible and also test negative for the mandatory pre-boarding Antigen Rapid Test at the cruise terminal. World Dream crew members have also been fully vaccinated in accordance with prevailing national guidelines.

Emirates offering special fares to travellers
