This month is a good time to fly kites and Cha-am beach in Phetchaburi is a destination for this activity as it's hosting an international kite festival titled "Coloring The Sky" from tomorrow to Sunday, from 11am to 7pm.

Organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the three-day event will be packed with spectacular shows of international and Thai kites, quad line stunt kites, dual-line stunt kites performed by fliers with high-speed flying skills, as well as a battle of unique traditional Chula and Pak Pao kites.

There will be an exclusive tour that offers a kite-flying experience and lessons from professional kite fliers while a large space will be reserved for everyone in the family to have fun flying kites together. A DIY corner will be available to show how to draw, paint and create your own kites.

Waiting to help brighten up and add colours to the hot and humid air in the sky will be exciting water sports such as kitesurf and wing foil.

Another attraction of the festival will be the "Kite View Food Zone" which will gather local dishes and drinks from some of the best restaurants in the province while kite fanatics will love the "Thailand Kite Market" which will feature a huge variety of kites.

There is no admission fee. Visit thailandfestival.org or call 1672.
