Thai VietJet celebrates with special fare offers

In celebration of its sixth anniversary, Thai Vietjet has launched a promotion offering special fares starting from 666 baht on the airline's entire domestic flight network.

The special fares are inclusive of taxes and fees, available for booking from now until Saturday, with a travel period from Sept 10 until Dec 31.

Booking launches sustainable initiative for Thai market

Booking.com has unveiled a one-of-a-kind clay house or "Grow Green Stay" for the first time in Thailand.

Following the previous global launch of its Travel Sustainable badge, Booking.com has launched the "Grow Green Stay" initiative to show Thai travellers how easy and convenient it is to embark on a sustainable journey with various accessible, sustainable options available around the world.

Inspired by local Thai wisdom, this eco-friendly clay house features natural, sandy clay loam and organic materials from local communities. It uses an interior design concept that focuses on reducing energy consumption and material waste to provide travellers with an authentic, unforgettable eco-friendly retreat.

The latest Sustainable Travel Report commissioned by Booking.com revealed that 94% of Thai travellers believe that sustainable travel is essential. Moreover, 90% of Thais said they would prefer to stay in a sustainable hotel. Some 83% of Thai travellers also indicated that they would be more likely to choose a specific accommodation if they knew it was implementing sustainable practices.

Shinta Mani Hotels to open lodge in Nepal

Shinta Mani Hotels in partnership with Kathmandu-based Sherpa Hospitality Group will open the 29-suite Shinta Mani Mustang – A Bensley Collection luxury lodge on March 1 next year. This will be Shinta Mani Hotels' first internationally flagged property outside Cambodia.

Shinta Mani Mustang – A Bensley Collection will be an all-inclusive experience, with the guests' journey curated to provide the most remarkable 360-degree, luxury experience in the Himalayas, one of the most unique and preserved regions in the world. Mustang in Tibetan, translates to Plain Of Aspiration and is bordered by the Tibetan plateau with an elevation that rises from 1,372 to 8,167m above sea level.

Each of the 29 suites measuring 45m² is designed in the style of a traditional Tibetan home with an open-plan bedroom combined with a living area and a separate bathroom. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer majestic views of Nilgiri mountain.

Rates at the all-inclusive Shinta Mani Mustang -- A Bensley Collection will start from 62,000 baht per couple per night for a minimum 5-night stay, plus applicable service charges and government taxes. Rates are inclusive of all food and beverage; private guided activities and excursions; unlimited spa treatments; personal Bensley Adventure Guide and transfers between Kathmandu and Jomson (by air or air and road). Helicopter transfers and private chartered flights are additional. Rates are valid until March 31, 2024.

Myanmar brings back visa-free travel

Myanmar has a visa-free visit policy for citizens of eight Asean countries including Thailand. Starting from Sept 1, visitors can have a maximum of a 14-day stay in the country.

Ports of entry include Yangon International Airport, Mandalay International Airport and Naypyidaw International Airport. Visitors who wish to stay longer than 14 days can apply for an e-visa.

As part of Myanmar's visa-free policy, Singapore is the only Asean country whose citizens are allowed to stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days and can enter via any airport in Myanmar.

In terms of public health measures, visitors must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 at least 14 days prior to departure and are also required to have a negative RT-PCR test 48 hours prior to departure.
